He wants $10m AAV and was all pro. That seems fair to me. What makes you think he would pack it in after being all pro 5 of the past 6 years?

His current contract is 4 years/40M, aka 10M AAV, and he wants more. Seattle made him the highest paid safety in the NFL in 2014 and he's threatening to not even honor the last year of it.

But yeah, this guy will ball so hard after he's been paid and his 30th birthday hits. Let's give up a couple of high picks, toss in Beasley, and have that press conference.

I read a report that he was asking for the same. I don't care to dredge them up and don't care if you believe me but I also know you have nothing to substantiate your claim of his demands.

The last time he got paid, he remained an all pro.

Please tell us why ET would pack it in once he's paid this time?

You must have a pretty personal relationship with Thomas.

That has been my take the entire time. Try for a day 3 pick offer a 3rd take it or leave it at the last minute.

ET hadn't said anything but they did blow up their defense letting Bennett and Sherman go. The rumors have been steady since the end of the season and Seattle has gave no interest in deflecting those rumors or stating they value ET.

The writing has been on the wall but now ET is screaming from the hilltop. I'm actually excited that this gets done.

Yep. In no way would I offer 50 or 81 in any scenario. I offer 116 and stand firm.

He maybe so disgruntled that after the draft he may not show up for mini camps and OTA and Seattle has to get rid of him. At this point you maybe able to give them next years 3 for him.

I am going to be mad if they give them 81 and if they give them 50 they just confirm how stupid they are.

If they give up 81 on day 2 of the draft I would be fine with it. Now? No way in hell. Let them stew and revel in the media lambasting them about ET as no show.

I would be more willing to wait till after the draft and give up a 2019 pick. Especially if he continues to hold out into Mc.

He's much better than any 3rd rounder in this draft..if you get 3-4 solid years it's worth it
True...but the reality is,he has 2 great years of ball left in him. Its debatable after that.

A 2019 conditional 3rd..YES..I would. I would not do a thing more. If we do it now...I would offer a 4th this year plus a player..nothing more.

If you aren't living under a rock then you would know that there are reports of Gronk being unhappy that have been coming out since the season ended. He's making public demands and threatening retirement the last I looked.

Brady is rumored to skip but acting like their two biggest stars skipping workouts is no big deal is asinine.

I get that it is trendy to act like nothing in NE ever goes wrong but these workouts are where team building begins and team leaders skipping them is not benign but instead undermines that goal. It's also symbolic because that is how the season begins. Seattle now has a young rebuilding defense whose vet leader wants no part of.

I must be living under a rock, at least a rock not in Gronk's neighborhood. I read he was considering retirement. Assumed it was because of injuries. Silly me under a rock

Eric Berry would have something to say about that but nevertheless ET is still an elite talent.
Eric Berry is more of a SS. Never seen someone take out TE's including Gronk out like Berry but ET is a much better all around safety/centre fielder

This is humongous as it is the first sign we have seen from ET that he is disgruntled. It gives us tremendous leverage in trade talks as this is ET publicly acting to show he is not buying into what the Seachickens are doing.

I was curious how long Seattle could leave him hung out to dry before he did something. With the draft hurtling towards us this is huge news.

Drive that price down Earl.

not me. No way on 2 or 3.

They are going to be forced to sell low because they are stuck.

The Chiefs play Berry like we played Jones asking him to single cover TE given matchups and they are not the constant cover 3 but Berry is still primarily the deep S when the play calls for it.
