As long as you're kidding...
I truly hope I am not kidding about the Travis Frederick part. Time will tell. I have a lot of issues with the Cowboys front office and coaching but I have gotten to a point where I have to give the Cowboys some benefit of doubt when it comes to drafting. They are not perfect (no team is) but they have improved tremendously in that area.

Well, they passed up a chance to go up and get James and Edmund, two players WE thought were top12 who were clearly within reach. That should tell how much they think of this kid. I'm guessing in addition to his amazing potential, they hoping he also give this D some leadership when an injury takes Lee out.

In their minds, LVE > Multiple picks to move

Trading down and getting both Frederick and Williams for the 16th pick was outstanding.

This is Travis Frederick all over again. I can't believe these guys and their reaching.
You think he's as good as Frederick? Wow, we knocked this one out of the park, then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was.

Leighton Vander Esch worked out at the Star and spent significant time with Sean Lee when he was here. They thought he was a Brian Urlacher 2.0 and DC Rod Marinelli coached Urlacher in Chicago #Cowboys

That’s pretty high praise

I was just wondering if LVE was one of our first round grades and was he ranked our best player available when we were on the clock at pick nineteen. Thoughts? Go Cowboys
But he’s not. Wanna talk about Romo now?

That would be great. I don't know what he will turn out to be but given our needs and what was available I am satisfied with the pick. We need LB help and I would prefer LVE over any WR in the first. Although I would try to look on the bright side if we had done that too.

He just needs to learn to play linemen more physically and shed blocks and he will be a stud. I think part of that is he is still relatively new to real football and the upside to him for that reason is huge.
