I will say that you can really see how green our pants are. It's time to be strictly silver

people said to watch the Cardinals All or Nothing if i wanted to see a real HC (Bruce Arians)
so i did
and then i watched Michigans to get a look at Harbaugh since some love that guy too

Arians main difference from Garrett is that he comes across as an ******* and thugish like threatening to cut someone for parking in his spot and calling players names
now does scaring players or calling them a ******** when they are 25 years old work better than being a disciplinarian with emphasis on encouragement? or like Harbaugh just being almost juvenile and weird?
i dont think it matters that much personality-wise

i think scheme and player talent has a huge hand in success
Cards GM seemed like a real workhorse in putting together talent for that team and they already had a fantastic defense when Arians was hired
same with Harbaugh, his defense was top 3 and stacked with years of top draft picks on offense

Arians and Harbaugh both were canned as soon as they failed to make the run work and the talent/contracts hit the reset point

i dont think Garrett is a bad coach i think he takes things from coaches he worked for respects most like Parcells and mostly Saban
him clapping instead of acting like a kid that just found out they were grounded (Harbaugh) i dont think it matters nearly as much as fans like to imagine because his players like him and play hard for him

his weakness is his inexperience at times and failing to improvise his scheme in key situation like with personnel change also choice in defensive scheme but that might be Jerry
i would say passing game but for years Romo made the offense among the best in the league so you cant cut Garretts involvement from that
but when you need to switch to a different look for a given team or loss of a key player he was too stubborn (we dont worry about what they do) or just failed to do it
hes had high scoring offenses for years and top rushing attacks the system works
its when a link breaks in the chain hes done a poor job at times compensating and its cost seasons

it isnt because his hair is red or because he likes to clap like Saban does

Halfway through episode 2 and a couple of random thoughts.

I thought the way they handled the Zeke situation was crap. First, Jerry (do GMs and COOs usually sit in on coaches' meetings?) said, I don't want to make any excuses for Zeke then goes off to give an excuse for his actions. To which Garrett just nods in approval (I don't think anyone disagrees with JJ ever, which was a wrong on so many levels). People go through adversity all the time, and granted Zeke's is serious, but when you go to do your job you have to put that behind you or your negatively affecting the team. Other players have done so. Then, Gary Brown acts incensed at how Zeke acted, but then when he talks to him he acts like he's his therapist. "What can I do to help you? You gotta get what happened out of your mind and move on and I know you will". JG also handles him with kid gloves. BS. I know tough love isn't necessarily always the best option, but you need to make it damn clear that his attitude is hurting the team and is unacceptable. He needs some tough love there just like a kid would.

Also, some of the coaching. Now I've never played organized football so some of you may say I'm way off base here. But I didn't see any detailed coaching, just a bunch of platitudes being yelled. Before the Giants game, when Zeke was working on his blocking, the coach got after him about how he was using his hands. Then his technique seemed to get worse and he ended with "good job, good job". Where was his coaching on where to place his hands because they were all over the place?

Yes.

I saw Arians up close and personal in college - back when he was even more of a hardass. He demanded a lot, but he was respected. Not respected because he demanded respect, but because he put everything he had into making the team better. He worked harder than any player under him and if push came to shove, he'd give a left nut to a player if he needed it.

Although, I admit, I only appreciate him more the more time and distance that comes between us.

He’s a party boy. I’m worried we have more problems ahead with him. Remember next incident and he’s gone.

I've seen Emmitt Smith at the gentlemen's (Strip) club here in Dallas back in the Superbowl days. So, give Zeke a break.

Dez is a roller coaster, I actually felt bad for the guy after watching the show.

Yeah. Hes intense in everything he does, theres no middle ground with him.

I found it pretty funny when he was yelling that the defense played cover 1 "2 times" the broadcasters thought he was yelling that he was only thrown to 2 times. Hes a misunderstood fellow. Still love him

End of episode 8, Garrett was talking about how their would be turnover on staff because they all have to be on the same page buying into the Jason Garrett message and selling it to the players. He said they can't have the rolling of the eyes, here we go again attitude as coaches.

Even the coaches were tired of the same message being delivered, so it's no wonder the team seems tuned out as well. The new staff will be Garrett yes men.

Yes, Garrett said his name was on it and if the coaches want to be here it is going to be his way.

He said there will be coaching changes and he can not have the rolling of eyes from coaches as well or them being tired of his message.

Interesting that there was a max exodus of coaches shortly thereafter.

It was clear some of the coaches became problematic for Jason and he was calling them out before he replaced them accordingly.

Zeke was a spoiled child at times, sleeping in during position meetings and having some attitude, I know he was under pressure due to the NFL witch hunt but you have to grow up and be a pro.

Dez seemed like something clinical was going on with his mental health, I also felt bad for the guy.

Zeke being out, Sean Lee being out and Tyron Smith missing time is what killed this team last season.

Lack of proper depth in light of these situations particularly with reference to OL, so you can see why they handled this in free agency and the draft.

LB health as well, you can see why we drafted LVE.

He was yelling they were playing cover 1 "2 times" in a row because he was frustrated not being apart of the gameplan up to that point and the offense is designed to get the X the ball when the defense goes cover 1. So what he was saying was misconstrued by Joe Buck, but it was still an act based out of frustration and anger that he wasn't getting the ball.

It's clear he can't handle his emotions and it routinely affects his ability to focus on the task at hand. He lets the noise between his ears control him. That's why I feel bad for him.

Watching each episode, I get less and less impressed with Rich Bisaccia. He had a pretty strong stroke and the results weren't there.

Not too busted up he is gone.

Did they have footage of Linehan?

From the limited time I'd seen him working with players I always thought his communication was pretty awful, but I didnt want to form any conclusions based on that info

You see what the producers of the show decide to show. I'm sure there are plenty of X's and O's but it just doesn't get shown. Also, I'm sure the Cowboys have certain things they don't want televised, which would include scheme related things (although it seemed like every team knew what we were doing last year).

Yes, Garrett said his name was on it and if the coaches want to be here it is going to be his way.

He said there will be coaching changes and he can not have the rolling of eyes from coaches as well or them being tired of his message.
But Dooley was one of "his guys." They both coached for Saban at Miami.

So it sounds like classic Garrett. He hires someone and it's, "Oh boy, here's a good coach, he's a Garrett Guy."

Then a couple of years later, the story is that guy wasn't good enough and wasn't on board enough so he has to go.

Rinse and repeat in two or three years. (And the same with a bunch of our players, too.)

Meanwhile Politician Red still sits at the top and grins (and spits and F-bombs).
