Already was a bit of a steal, since the Cowboys tried to move up into the 3rd round to get him but he fell to Dallas in the 4th.
For the record, that was almost certainly an after the fact PR spin after they were not able to move up to get the Safety they wanted. Not saying it's 100% the case, but ya have to give it some credence.

Kansas sucks at football, just pitiful. That being said, they did get Charles Strong fired....you will be hard pressed to name a single player on that team, even Big 12 fans will have difficulty. However, one player I did know, and was able to name, was Armstrong. Whenever I watched a game that included that pitiful team, his jersey was all over the place. I couldn't believe a player that good would play for such a sucky team, and by choice. So yes, I think we got ourselves a quality football player. He will never be the flashiest athlete like Deforest Buckner, but he will show heart, grit, determination, technique, and leadership out on the field. Do not be surprised if he soon becomes one of the new leaders in the locker room.

Being from Kansas I can say this is all 100% true. Most underestimate Armstrong. With uncertainty about Tapper and Gregory and DLaw ready to make the big bucks it was obvious to me why the Cowboys selected Armstrong.

We have to hit on one of these DEs. So far Lawrence is the only DE on the roster who has shown potential to be an above average player.

Always gotta root for the mid and late round rookies to succeed... makes the team a hell of a lot better and makes letting over priced contracts walk much easier to stomach when they blossom

I'd rather have someone with good, but not great talent who works his butt off and hustles as compared to someone with more innate skills whose a slacker.

Last years draft contained mostly safe picks and great value.....with exceptions probably being Taco and Switzer. This year seems to be some of the same with LVE and Armstrong being the two picks you thought you could've traded down and got but these are theirs "we are the smartest guys in the room" picks. Those picks are scary.....but they love these guys and if they pan out.....this defense will be scary good for years.

I believe this is going to be a surprising draft, those trying to claim they simply went and reached for need are wrong and some saying this feels like 2009 one of our worse drafts ever but again I think they will be very surprised..
