Classic. This thread should be about Jerry getting props from an esteemed sports writer for being a game-changing innovator as an owner.

I think it was a Troll Job by King. He's a Giants/Pats fan and knew that if he wrote great things about Jerry and Garrett, Jerry would read it, he loves having his ego stroked. It would validate Jerry's decision to keep Garrett and maybe even extend him again as Jerry and his Cult of Mediocrity could point and crow about his wonderful article. King can walk away laughing, knowing he has stuck it the Cowboys and done his part to try to keep the Cowboys mired in the mud pit of mediocrity.

Sometimes players start to "tune out " speeches, messages, and mantras when the results aren't there.

After awhile it just seems like a sales pitch for some shady time share or pyramid scheme.

This messsge wasn't directed specifically at JG but just in general

Good stuff.

I like how he says he hated coaches who said they were doing great when they were mediocre. Kinda slaps all those moronic "clapping" critics right in the face.
Some people will just never get it. Garrett is just next in their line.

So let me get this straight..……….Garrett sounds so great on the practice field that others are mesmerized by it? Other teams tape it and want their coaches to watch it.

Meanwhile, when we look at the results column for Garrett, his teams miss the playoffs roughly 75% of the time since he became head coach.

Hmmmmmm……………guy gives great speeches but his teams cant win jack...……….interesting...……...hmmmmmm

If only we could take Garrett’s charisma and put it into the body of someone who knows how to coach

What if long after we're all gone Jason Garrett is remembered as an inspiring Bruce Lee type figure that is quoted by future generations?

What, you mean like in some kind of "Bizzaro World" type alternate future thing or.....? Yeah, I guess I'm not following you.

Game changing, innovative owner for sure.

Average, arrogant, largely unsuccessful GM, for sure as well.

Two teams had their coaches watch Garrett. I thought he'd never be hired by anyone else. Read it on this forum.

When Aristotle was asked how he learned to be so smart, he said "by watching the stupid people"

"Not sure how much Jason Garrett loved it, but he was great. So good, in fact, that two teams had their coaching staffs watch how the organized and passionate Garrett went topic by topic with his team. We taped the whole thing, and the 36-minute seminar/speech was on our site the day The MMQB was born, in July 2013. Garrett on coaching: “The coaches I hate—that I had a visceral reaction to—were the guys who told me, ‘You’re doing a great job.’ … And allowing me to be as mediocre as mediocre could be. None of us need help being mediocre—especially me. Coach my ***! … You been to the Pro Bowl eight times? You’re getting your *** coached. You just got here 15 minutes ago? You’re getting your *** coached. First-round picks, free agents who signed for nothing—everybody’s getting coached.”

This seems a bit big to put in my sig for the guys who wanted more recent stuff in my sig, so I'll just quote it here again.

If only NFL were a talking league not football league where results matter, not words
