Terrell Owens decided to hold his own Hall of Fame ceremony at University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, his alma mater, spurning his enshrinement in Canton, Ohio.

In return, the Hall of Fame will ostensibly ignore T.O. during its ceremony, concentrating on the seven other inductees participating -- Bobby Beathard, Robert Brazile, Brian Dawkins, Jerry Kramer, Ray Lewis, Randy Moss and Brian Urlacher.

"The focus is on the guys who are here," Hall of Fame executive director Joe Horrigan told Clark Judge of the Talk of Fame Network.

The Hall will mail Owens his gold jacket Saturday morning. The mercurial receiver won't be individually mentioned with other inductees during Friday's Gold Jacket dinner or Saturday's ceremony, Horrigan said.

Outstanding! T.O. made the decision to segregate himself from this celebration. I applaud the HoF's decision to respect T.O.'s wishes and accommodate it's effective isolation of his HoF enshrinement.
Likewise, his HoF bust should be isolated from the others as well for eternity. I suggest that isolated place be in a locked basement closet at the Canton HoF facility, forever out of the view of the general public.

I'm curious if there will even be a bust. He has to sit down with the sculptor for measurements and likeness.
If he truly is sticking it to the voters and hof committee, it should include boycotting that as well.
Also, the jacket. Will he be fitted? Will he just text his jacket size? I mean, is this a statement or just a grown man
pouting like a child? That's a rhetorical auestion... lol

The HOF is being petty. TO SHOULD boycott the ceremony because he should have been a first ballot HOF but since he gave the finger to a lot of the HOF voters over the years they got their very petty revenge delaying his induction.

same thing with Charles Haley. Penalized for not worshipping at the feet of the HOF voters

And with this decision the HOF lowers itself to the level of TO and invites the label of hypocrite.

Why not take the high road and set a positive example?

They should bury it byt the froney entrance with just his face sticking out of the ground so people can kick it on their way in for good luck. Deface his face with their foot.

It is an honor for any player to be elected into the HOF, I'm really sorry they did not do it on TO time frame of when he felt he should have gone in. There are several players who deserve in Rayfield Wright deserved it yet took a while before it happened but he did not act like a jerk. TO biggest problem in his career was he was a jerk. This has nothing to do with bowing before the HOF, it is an honor that is being bestowed on a player to recognize his play in the history of this game. If TO wants to throw a temper tantrum and not be honored then why bother making him a part of it?

Rayfield Wright wasn't a top 3 all-time at his position. There is a talent gap between those two - stop pulling every great Cowboys name from the grave to downplay the stupidity of the HOF.

And as I have stated in other threads, an "honor" is a bit tainted when you're asked to be beside a man who obstructed justice and still TO THIS DAY is leaving out crucial information in a murder case. Add to that, a man who murdered his wife along with a rapist in Lawrence Taylor who STILL goes to the ceremony to entertain...

Let's stop with this "honor" crap. That is long gone from the HOF, having a bad attitude on the field and in a locker room is something I'd take over the thuggery that is allowed to infest the HOF.

No HOF inductee has ever worshipped at the feet of the HOF voters

Because they don't have to. TO already set the bar to be followed.

I think Canton should have just used a life size cut out of TO on stage, hired jimmy kimmel to do the induction speech, and inducted him as if he were there.

Getting a kick out of Madden using TO for the HOF Edition yet he'll be largely ignored by the HOF ceremony.
