Sigh. It's hard for me to believe that people are this naive. Both Manning and Johnson won because of dominant defenses. Like I said above, correlation does not equal causation. Generally speaking guys pass for more yard when they're behind. That, in no way means that passing for fewer yards (even in an efficient manner) gives you a better chance to win. It means that you don't pass as much when you're winning.
I know that sir. I said what I said in the quoted post to prove said point that you can use said stats to prove an argument. I also picked two qbs from this century. The obvious Joe Montana or Steve Young name drop that fits the parameters of your post but defies it in a dominating defensive performance with lots of passing offense. It just depends and can't be predicted.

Yeah, I was too lazy to go back and look for the post you quoted so I quoted both of yours. I know you understand, but clearly many others do not.

Or some people just try to be honest and give their fair assessment of Prescott.

It’s intellectually dishonest when people like you basically claim criticism of Prescott is born out of personal feelings or agendas and not based on his performances to date.
All of this. People try to muddy the waters when they add other stuff esp number 10. That list would make sense if Dak was some all world qb currently and he had the amount of criticism he has now. He is being fairly criticized for the most part just like when he played out of his mind on 2016 he was fairly praised.

ridiculous amount of people here defending Daks performance when it's obvious he could and should be doing much better. Comical.

If you'll all remember, Aikman had a ton of games where his line was in the neighborhood of 16-25 for 180 to 240 yards and two TDs. In fact, his "lack of numbers caused some to say he wasn't deserving of the HOF induction. Tony, on the other hand had some of the gaudiest numbers in history and well ... you know.

Its about what works for a particular team and it's roster. We'll see. My jury's still out. I admire Dak as a person and his work ethic. I desire a QB with NFL accuracy and zip. But, maybe it all works ...

I was just going to post how insane it was that there were that many people in this thread unwilling to acknowledge that he played well this weekend.

Better than week 1? Yes. Needs to continue to improve if we want to finish better than last year? Yes.

He was bad in week one. I don't think anybody would dispute that.

We'd win a fair number of games playing the way we played this week. It's early in the season, and there are things they need to clean up, but there's no particular reason to be concerned with the overall trajectory of the team so far going into week 3. Not that that's going to stop anybody.

It'd be nice to see him throw for more than 200 yards regularly. We know he's not Tony Romo and there's a lack of good talent at WR and TE. However, Zeke is not Zeke so it falls on our passing game to shoulder the load.

Why do you care how many yards he throws for? Give me a three score lead in the 4th and no turnovers and play good defense, and I'll take that, any day.

Expand it to under 7 yards per attempt and see what you get from there... Still no @AdamJT13 on that...

Under 200 yards at 6.2 to 7.0 YPA and 0 interceptions gives you a 94-8 record (.922 winning percentage) since 2005. Against winning teams, it's 38-4 (.905). Against teams that made the playoffs, it's 32-2 (.941).

Passing efficiency (offense and defense) wins games, not total passing yards.

He's the one who put out dubious numbers.

And you keep making it sound like 6.4 to 7.0 hurts the argument... That is better performance, if anything it should improve your argument, but in reality, we know the sample size grows and it won't help.

They’re not dubious numbers. Not at all. They are rather clear.

I don't mine criticism of Dak. A lot of it is warranted. I just find it funny that they will go to extreme lengths to defend Romo against any criticism at all, while also going to extreme lengths to complain about everything they can think of about Dak. They hate when Dak does something and complain about it, point out Romo did it and then watch the excuses flow for why it was acceptable for Romo to do the same thing. Good times watching Romo fans lose their minds.

I don't mind the constructive criticism of Dak either . There are things he has to get better at for certain . There are many good posters that analyze his game in a constructive way and don't just spew hate .

Then there is this other lost tribe of purely Romo fans that will just never get over Dak taking there heros Job even though it was no fault of Daks Geez They don't even let the starting offense play in preseason now what was Tony doing playing and running after back surgery . We keep Zeke healthy as a horse out all preseason and let Romo play and RUN AFTER BACK SURGERY Go Figure!!

They will continue there mission of trying to build Tonys legend by minimizing any and all of Daks accomplishments . This negative bashing has really created an unpleasant atmosphere on this forum.

It wont stop any time soon . Its almost like the better Dak plays the more extreme they get to prove him inadequate and Tony all world .
They are a twisted little group living in denial SO Damn them Im a Cowboys fan supporting our QB so they can just bring it on !!!

Or at least acknowledge he played better and some progress was made offensively
