TO is a very good comparison to Dez right now. I have been comparing Dez to TO for several months now. I do think Dez will get one more shot with a WR desperate team. But make no mistake, Dez is not a #1 WR and will most likely play decoy wherever he ends up. He will make plays here and there but will never be a featured WR. There are reasons GM's are not calling Dez' agent, and the #1 reason is not because Dez is being picky...

My hunch is that TO is probably in better shape and can still run better routes.
(Not advocating bringing in TO, for the record)

From today's column:

"At this point, any rational thinker must consider that Dez’s career is over."

Not "...that Dez's DALLAS career is over."

Mr. Engel, do you claim to speak for the rational thinkers? Because I dare say it's not even close to being over, given that there are flirtations that we know have occurred (Ravens, Browns), but they just didn't come to terms on a deal.
Im not here nor there on Dez.

But Mac Engel is well established as a full blown moron

I think he will get another opportunity. Might be his last one though. He’s definitely past his prime.
Dez might not be able to leap like he did in 2014 but he’s got a good 3 years easily of being a serviceable WR.

Talent wise he deserves to be on a roster rn. It’s just character concerns holding him back. I think he can still be a serviceable WR like you said. Look at Brandon Marshall, he’s past his prime but still serviceable.

According to the beat writers here in the Cleveland area, the Browns offered him $5 MM, he wanted $10 MM.

Since his leaping ability is less, and he won't run sharp routes, what makes you say he's serviceable?

Going on twitter and blaming everyone but himself didn't help. He called out Lee, Witten, Dak, Garret, Linehan.......... It never occurred to Dez that his scorched earth approach was burning more bridges than just the one to Dallas.

Even at his slobbish production of 700 yards, 4-6 tds a year, if he played until he was 35 here he would've been a HOFer based on name value and the Cowboys brand.

What a fall from grace.

If a current WR finished 2018 with 700 yards and even 4 TDs, It would be deemed a miracle by us fans who currently have to watch this vanilla offense week in and week out.

Some people love hard and they also hurt hard. It’s all understandable, and so are the consequences.

Because he got most of his 800 yds running go routes in a trash offensive system. He fought for all those yards considering that defenses knew exactly where he was going on obvious passing downs.

Dude signed his mega deal that was the end of anything resembling high level talent. Add in the piss poor attitude and you get a turd that no one wants.

Even after everything Jerry would have kept him but the dummy still thinks is he is worth over 10 million per year.
