That's true; the result of every play impacts every other play thereafter. But you can't say that failing to get a first down with 4:32 left in the first quarter when you're on your own 31 yard line absolutely made the difference between winning and losing like you can for a field goal kick on the last play of game.

And absolutely more time is a valid argument. A good analogy are stock options - their value is based upon the underlying prices of the strike price vs. the stock price with a time value adjustment. An option is worth less each passing day even if the price of the stock does not move because you are losing time available for the outcome to change. No different with the Romo bobbled snap - there were far fewer plays after that to recover and, therefore, a lower probability of overcoming it. Sure, Seattle could've fumbled the ensuing snap and Dallas recovered it, but what was the probability of that? And, as I remember, Dallas did ultimately stop Seattle and forced them to punt so they had another play, but it the probability of success was infinitesimal because the distance and time were insurmountable.

We're simply going to have to agree to disagree.

You're ignoring all the plays before it. You "overcome" it with both plays before and after.

Knowing a certainty doesn't create more impact. It just provides knowledge about that specific play.

You don’t have to agree to disagree. You are right. Kevin, like always, is wrong. The dude has one goal here and that is to defend Romo.

You can always tell the fake fans, they pretend to be upset that a fading 9-7 team who had to win three road games to even get to the Super Bowl was put out of their misery. I doubt they were even born in 2006.
Now 2007 and 2016, those were real missed opportunities.

In Tony’s defense, we weren’t beating the Patriots if we made it in 2007

LOL amazing... one Romo thread and of course it predictably brings out the worst in people. These threads are so entertaining to read just because we always see the Romo haters come out and start spewing nonsense. In regards to the show, I'm extremely excited. Tony's story is truly a great one when you factor in the small college, undrafted and his backup years and the fact that he worked his behind off to become the starting quarterback for America's Team. It's a great story. Whether you love him and or hate him you can't deny that.

as I said the haters are mentally ill. They can NEVER not comment in any Romo thread.

But the thing is, I'm not blaming Romo for the loss. Maybe he's is hyper-sensitive and taking it that way. It's just like the Dez non-catch. It was a critical play, but the overturn didn't cost us the game.

I'll DVR it and watch it later in the season...................If we're doing well , I'll view it with fond memories and the hope Tony continues to be successful in all his endeavors..............If we're crappy , especially if Dak falters , I'll watch it thinking "Why did you leave us?"

Saw the commercial. Heartbreaking when he said the Bryant no catch might have been the best throw of his career.
Huge moment in the game with everything on the line obviously, 4th down too if I remember correctly. Such a huge fail on a perfectly orchestrated play. Quite typical of Romo's career, so blessed and yet so cursed.

Although he didn’t win the big one, it’s one of the most succesful stories ever (in the NFL), this side of Kurt Warner of course.
A shame Jerry wasted his talents with awful coaching and mostly poor D’s.
Should be fun
