He finished out his contract in 2014. Somehow, two seasons later the O line was even better. They allowed him to look around.
How the **** is that disrespect? Some fans are insane.

Get your facts right before you try to call anyone else out.

the O line arguably had its best year AFTER Callahan left so his impact there is questionable. Injuries have been the problem there. '

now as regards the rest well mediocrity is the standard for coaches here.

In this same vein with Bill Callahan, don't forget Dan Reeves. Wade brought him in to 'help' the dummy coordinator who to this day doesn't know how to handle the running game. I believe that was after Tony Sparano (RIP), the previous 'run game helper', left for a head coaching or coordinator job.

Anyone else remember that? Reeves had started to work and had an office and everything, until he was disrespected to the point of punching a clock and left. Why? Because Garrett was threatened by yet another better coach.

If you want the lowdown on why this team and its offense struggles, look no further than rushing attempts.

When it's Garrett and Linehan involved, this team ranks near the bottom of the league in even trying to run the football. Because the two pass-happy idiots can't or refuse to call them (feel free to take your pick of the two). Look no further than this year if you'd like. Despite the investments made in the line, and having a top 3 running back and #4 overall draft investment, the Cowboys are 25th in rushing attempts.

While your passing game sucks, and your quarterback is struggling, You are 25th in rushing attempts.

While your running back is tied for the league rushing lead, you are 25th in rushing attempts.

Despite the fact that running the ball is the only thing that's working, you are 25th in rushing attempts.

When people say that these coaches coach to their team's weakness and not to its strengths, they're absolutely right.

Garrett and Linehan are two pass-happy morons. And they always will be. Despite having a team built for and begging to run, they would rather pass the ball in futility and failure.

You want to fix this offense? Start by firing those two bozos.

By not giving him an extension?

It's not their option, it's his!

They didn't "allow" him to do anything. In fact, they forced him to stay when he wanted to leave. Don't try to chastise anyone else when it's obvious that it's you who doesn't know what they're talking about.

Such a good post. The defense has been rated fairly high the last two years.

How we're 25th in rushing attempts is mind-boggling.

Amen. People still believe Romo rarely had a run game when reality the run game was just seldom used and abandoned often for a pass happy offense. Then teams would pin their ears back and all of a sudden the offensive line was just god awful. This team requires the best of everything just to make a playoff appearance.

Just think about all the coaches that we didn't want that we would love to have right now...

Sean Payton, Mike Zimmer...

Who said we didn't want Payton? He was the O-Coordinator under Parcells and got an opportunity. We didn't run him off.

This is why I wanted to get Adrian Peterson as Zeke's backup. This team should be prepared to run it essentially on any down. If Zeke is tired, plug in Peterson. With the increased wear and tear on the defense, you should see a result of increased yards per carry and more big runs.

They completely take Zeke out of any potential rhythm. I can't remember when he was last featured in the offense. He seems like a complete after thought and that has been the case with almost all of our star players. Trademark of Garrett.

I remember he was definitely run off. Posters and fans wanted him to lose play calling while he was here.

There aren't many people in this league that are exactly inversely proportionally good at being a coordinator and bad at being a HC, when he's definitely a top tier DC.

Wade is one of them.

Which one is Garrett? :muttley:

There were a couple years where Romo had an efficient run game either with Murray, Barber, or Jones. Rarely was it consistent year to year, though it was underused.

Didn't he leave while BP was still HC?
