Chido is all hype

Why? OScan was always on the receiver, and most QBs wouldn't throw it due to the coverage. But eventually I think the better ones figured out just it anyway because Oscar had no balls skills and most WRs do.

Chido is getting the same treatment, and will continue until he makes some plays on the ball.

In the plus side, dude has been flat out mirroring the WR.
Chido has really good awareness. He got beat on some indefensible throws. He's simply a much better played than Scandrick ever was.

Those weren't indefensible. You folks have really low expectations for cornerbacks LOL

This is why we lose in the divisional round every couple years by great QBs. Because of crap like this. Nevermind all the great CBs in this league never having these "indefensible throws" on them consistently - because, I don't know, maybe they find a way to defend again them?

We said this about our corners for the past 15 years.

No, our corners were never on the receiver like Chido, except Scandrick years ago.

I'm not worried about the corners. The safeties are another story. Woods was dreadful, and Heath can play both positions or he looks like he did Sunday.

He was horrible on 1 or 2 passes. The rest were surgeon-like precision passes by Stafford. Chido was a blanket on his man, but the QB pay was downright unreal.

Lol, you’re criticizing one of two defensive golden boys we have. It’s like criticizing Zeke for his fumble, dropped pass, or stepping out of bounds against Seattle. They can do no wrong and get free passes.

I agree with you, I don’t buy the indefensible bs but like my criticism of Zeke, I do believe it is correctable and he has the skill set to be very, very good. I’m not going to freak out over one game but I’m sure as hell not going to give him a free pass and not criticize his mistakes or make excuses for him.

We had Newman for years who used to blanket receivers and rarely gave up TDs. We've had serious issues with drafting CBs that have low instincts and awareness of the ball.

Chido is showing this. We already know Jones won't be getting any turnovers.

Chido was one of the main reasons we shut down OBJ a couple of weeks ago as well. Difference was the quarterback, he had tight coverage against the lions but stafford just made some incredible throws.

I think we have a solid group of corners. Not perfect but definitely solid.

LOL okay, I'm out of this thread. Just like I criticized Brown in 2016 when people said he was "everywhere" just for him to crash land in 2017.

Good luck with this crap that he it was all just luck against him last week. 8/9 throws completed against him, just all part of god's plan....

Oof! Honestly we can just agree to disagree here as much as I want to call you out.

Chido was a late 2nd round pick and he’s in his second year in the NFL. He’s already an average to above average starting corner.

Man I love to pile on the ineptitude with this franchise but I don’t see how you can complain about Chido. Yeah he’s not Patrick Peterson or Jalen Ramsey but other than a handful of homers, no one was hyping him up to be a first team all pro.

Stafford was throwing dimes. A good QB doesn't see unopen receivers.

It's almost as though you all learned nothing from looking at the guy playing CB on the other side of Chido.

Relax.

Just for context y'all, mattjames20 is the same guy that argued Mo Claiborne was a shutdown CB.

And for context, I destroyed you in that debate and you ran off. He shut down both Cooks and Jones in back to back weeks, but as always, he couldn't stay healthy.

Heck, he's even playing good football right now with the Jets.
