8-8 would be the worst thing for this franchise

Jags & Titans are home games. The first Commanders game is on the road.

My bad. I was relying on Google the All Knowing who let me down for once.

Edit: looks like I just read the schedule wrong. Just flip all the home/away games. They are all wrong :p

If you take a look at our schedule then you have to think that we won't make it to 8 wins this year. We just can't score points.

@Jaguars
Commanders
@ Titans
Eagles
Falcons
@ Commanders
@ Saints
@ Eagles
Colts
@ Buccaneers
Giants

I don't know how many wins you guys see there but I see 3 or 4.

None of the remaining teams on our schedule are markedly better than we are. I say we go 7-9 when all is said and done.

With simply an above average QB, the Cowboys win vs. Houston easily. A brilliant defensive performance was wasted due to horrible QB play. Multiple interceptions, 66 QB rate, off target passes all night. Dak is lucky he didn't have a 3rd interception. If you want to discuss priorities, let's discuss the fact the GM under-invested in the most important position on the team.

So what? So we win. And then what? Fire Garrett. To complain about the QB at this point is just stupid. We had Romo for 10 years and it didn't matter. Cant overcome Garrett. Do you want to win championships or do you want to squeak by bad teams?

Get on the bandwagon buddy. We need to ride Garrett out of town. Whatever happens afterwards we will worry about afterwards.

Part of the reason why I'm not upset about the loss. This is still a ****** offense with a mediocre QB, no game breakers at WR, and we all know about the coaching staff.

Nope, the worst thing for this team is to finish 8-8. Does not get you into the post season. Does not get Garrett and Co. fired. Does not net you a top 10 draft pick. This is NOT a winning football team; we know that. So a 26-24 win against the Lions means very little in the end.

We need a reboot, and it can't happen until we hit rock bottom. We know that. Knew it in 1988 and again in 2002.

Agreed, but this team will likely make it their. The front office and coaching staff typically do a good job on selling the bounce back try hard never say die stick to it i can do this crap that beats the other bad teams or unprepared teams. When a good motivated relatively healthy team comes in, watch out.

I can see 7 or 8 wins with this team. Other teams know how to organically lose games to work for better draft position when the team's leadership determines the team will ultimately go nowhere significant. If you are out of the legitimate chance of winning in the postseason, you regroup (not just with the players though) and go again the next season.

Stupidity would be blaming the coach for something he had no control over. The GM saddled this team with a mediocre QB, and the Cowboys are paying the price. Check Dak's stats for the game tonight.

8-8 is a pipe dream anyway. Have you seen the second half of our schedual ? Lucky to go 6-10. Im rooting for 4-12 and a top five pick.

Couldn’t agree more.

We need to be really good or really bad.
Problem is, we have a top 10 (or better) defense. They will keep us in games.

Someone, hopefully Stephen, needs to see how things are and pull the plug now.

Why do you care who the QB is with Garrett as coach? We had Romo for 10 years and it didn't even matter. Even Romo couldn't overcome the horrid Garrett. Get your priorities straight.
Well then you really have to attack the real problem which is our GM. As long as he’s at the helm your going to get one garret after the other.

I have not purchased any Cowboys merchandise or attended a game since 2003... hoping most of the fans would do the same. Yet every home game has been sold out since then as the mediocrity continues.
And it will continue to sell out. Jerry's put a football field inside an amusement park.

Yep, so in other words we are screwed. Sucks to be a Cowboys fan.
Yep. Pretty much it until JJ steps down which doesn’t look like anytime soon. And then who knows what Stephan brings. We’re screwed unless that blind squirrel finds that acorn and I lthink that already happened in the early 90’s.

Not to worry....Waving Monkey will post some stats and articles that will prove Dak Prescott is fixable and that we're headed for 10-6 and playoff bound baby!!!
So all is well baby all is well.......

Expected wins for the season after sunday night... 6.63. Looks like 9-7 is the absolute best they can hope for. That and a weak division...although winning the division at 9-7 likely means that only one team comes out of the NFC East. It's more likely that they will indeed finish 8-8 or worse (probably...based on Sunday night).

Garrett should’ve been gone the Monday after the loss to the eagles in 2013. He was out coached by three different divisional coaches in a win or go home game.

Then in 2015. The second romos collarbone snapped the season was lost. The offense was worse then than it is now and that’s saying something.

I'd like to extremely suck this year, I can't do 8-8 anymore. We need to stink, like our offense and defense does anyways. And anyone that thinks our defense is good, please. We need an All-Star coaching staff like we had in the 70s and 90s. That's where it starts, and let them choose the players.

Doesn't look like a top ten defense right now. Two weeks consecutive 300 yard passers with passer ratings 131.5 and 98.5. Defensive passer rating over 100. They did pick up a fumble and 1 INT so that's something, but it only gives them 4 turnovers in five games. They are running slightly behind last year's 21.

I agree. I ABSOLUTELY do not want us going 8-8. That would set us back substantially. If we're not going to go to the playoffs, then let's just tank the season now, and get a better WR and/or QB and/or maybe a top safety.
Glad to hear there are others who feel the same way I do.
