Who’s missing? Alex Smith? And I’d move Jimmy G on there and lose Beathard. Put Dak at 32 where he belongs.

This is demonstrably, objectively false.
If Romo could have sustained his longevity he could have reached the pinnacle without ever leading the league in passing, winning MVP or a championship.

But a shortened career ( only started 8 full seasons)without more of these accolades leaves him short with 34,000 yards and 248 TD will have to settle for Ring of Honor and Cowboys team records.

As of right now dak is a middle of the road QB (15-20) that takes care of the football. And on a run first team that is what you need.

Dak isn’t better than 15 other starting QB’s in the league, IMO. Maybe 5 or 6 that I can think of that are worse and half are rookies which shouldn’t count.

Yeah he takes care of the football which comes at a cost. Diminishing returns at this point.

He was not a championship caliber QB at any point in his career. If he was a Championship caliber QB, then so was Dak, and we know Dak isn't.

We'll have to agree to disagree

It's interesting that the Lack of talent around him excuse is used to justify Daks atrocious performances, but Romo for long stretches was surrounded by worse and still became the all time leading passer in franchise history, yet gets little respect.

We've gone from Romo getting hammered for "blowing" the Denver game in 2013 on a 500 yard 5 TD performance, to Dak getting zero blame for averaging 172 yards a game with the league's leading rusher standing behind him

It's actually quite humorous to watch

Or if WR held on to the ball. Some of this is on Dak for sure. But some is on WR and coaching. Why did Linehan keep going between tackle when they were run blitzing all night. How about a toss or sweep.
You got it Glim 1 yrd on 1st down is not getting it and that happened quite a bit . Oline has to win on first down to make this offense work . Daks accuracy is not always consistent and the WR hands are very inconsistent .
3rd and 2 or three and we move the ball right down the field . 3rd and 9 or throw a penalty in there drive stalled . That's pretty much it not complicated just cant have 3rd and long .

We do not possess the talent to throw coach or catch around bad down and distance situations period...

I'll let you in on a little secret...

the same people who thought that Romo sucked and was a total cancer, are the same people defending Dak and his 172 ypg passing production.

They're all in, and it will be a cold day in hell before they admit they were horribly wrong about both Romo, and Dak.
I had been a big Dak supporter. But he hasn't taken the next step and has actually regressed.

I also thought Romo was over rated. Great guy. Still a very good QB.

This board is bizarre to me. Romo has the 4th best passer rating all time -- all time -- and so many people hated him and thought he sucked. Now we have a QB who struggles to pass over 200 yards a games for over a season and droves of people are defending him like it's other guys fault.
Please see my sig.

The same people that support Dak come hell or high water, are the same people that spent 10 years spewing stupid all over the internet about Cabo and a backwards hat.

Stop it. First off, Ryan Tannehill is not better than Dak.

I certainly wouldn’t place Romo at those HOF comparisons.

Those kind of comparisons do open up these unrealistic bashing.

Not only did Romo not put up those kind of numbers but he didn’t have their consistent playoff success despite not winning a championship.

Championship caliber isn’t a definte description but HOF talent is. Romo wasn’t HOF talent nor put up those type of career numbers.
As someone pointed out today... Romo has the 4th highest rated qbr in the history of the game. I’m not sure

Dak is 15 t 20 qb in the nfl? Yeah, right. You are seriously nuts. Dak isn’t 26to 32.

Credit where credit is due: Dak is an NFL level QB.

That level is career back-up. A guy that can win you a few games should your starter go down. In that regard, he has a solid future. That's a nice paycheck.

Unfortunately, I don't think that can be here in Dallas after his epic flameout, even though I do think our fans would accept him in that role.

I’d love to have him in that role. We finally found a backup who can come in and win some games.
