"Knowledge-wise, I think I'm the smartest quarterback that came in this class," Prescott recently told USA Today (h/t PFT). "I would love to go on the board and go head to head with anybody else. That's how I feel. That's how confident I am."

Its so aggravating m
Which is exactly why Romo took so much pressure of the coaching staff and organization in general.

He was in the CBS studio last Sunday and Cowher asked him how much control he had in play calling. He said 1st and 2nd down were designed by the coaches to get chunk yards, but 3rd down was his. After his pre snap read, he knew exactly where the ball was going and if was just a matter of execution. If the execution broke down he would improvise but options were always available.

Unlike Tony did, Dak is not taking the coaches off the hook, he's not moving defenses with his eyes, he's still developing in pre snap and all of this puts tremendous pressure on the play itself. Everything has to work perfectly and it's easy to get exposed when it doesn't.

I keep thinking what Parcells said - you know about a player after three years. Well...here we are.
to me to see dak on commercials when he should have been practicing

Defenses aren't stupid they're on to this changing the play at the line stuff.
They are starting to purposely show formations they know will cause a change in the play .
Then they simply react to the change THEY'VE caused.

You'll find offenses who thrive on a consistent basis run multiple plays from the same formation and most importantly don't show tendencies

We are entering a scary time for this franchise.

Like the head coach, where he's never bad enough to get fired but like not good enough to ever win anything of note, we may have a QB that will never evolve into a great QB but may be just good enough to convince Jerry and Stephen we can't cut bait with him.
too many people are hanging their hat on that 2016 season. Too many fans think well he did it once so he is capable of doing it again. Not true! The Cowboys offense is so bad and this season should expose Dak enough where they begin searching for a franchise QB. This is a throw away season for the rest of the team thanks to the front office for not having an alternate plan like I was preaching all off season.

Your exactly right! But the problem for the Cowboys also lies with execution! Dak cant make the throws!

Yeah I'm not impressed with Dak so far this year. Disappointing .
That said I promised Id give him the third year. If he fails, there's a couple big arm accurate throwers we'll be in prime position for.

This is his 3rd year. I honestly think with this brutal schedule its gonna get worse. I think Dallas will finish 5-11 and they should target a top tier QB. the only problem is Dallas may need to trade up in the draft because I think the Giants will be looking for a QB too.

People forget Romo had 3 years of Bill Parcells in his ear, plus Sean Payton, plus testeverde, Bledsoe before he even saw the field. Dak is on year 3 of no real coaching and has had to play day one. It's not apples to apples
it is ironic with Romo still here in 2016 along with Sanchez helping Dak all year , he had his best season...big drop off since..not sure how big of deal losing BCallahan was as well but things just looks like a car crash now.. how loing will JJ wait to make change or will he let this happen to naturally tank vs try and tank.. if its car wreck you wait for the best draft pick possible?

He might be.

Bill Belichick is better then Jared Goff knowledge wise.

Dak just can't process defenses at a high level.

He has to see it, see it again, then finally throw it.
It'll come with more repetition, Dak has shown potential and still has a lot to learn, it's just year 3.
Not every QB is the same, not all of them pick up things at the same pace.

We and the media needs to stop with the comparisons, each man is different and Dak is still technically a Rookie, whom did not get drafted high. So how can folks expect him to play like a high level guy so soon when he wasn't that guy coming out of college?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I didn't think that in the off season, but it's looking like NY may need one.

Is Broaddus in the huddle? Is Broadus in the press box with Linehan? I'm not hoodwinked, playboy! I know what I read. And I know Broaddus hasn't played a lick of NFL ball. Hell...you have fans that are at every training camp. That means nothing! Know what you're talking about, son!

He doesn't have to be, and Dak said in his interview he is making pre snap reads and changing routes, so Broaddus is right. Hurns out there missing signals.

Hmmm... Why exactly is it the dumbest thing? If the DCs and 11 players knew exactly what to expect then these 3 guys wouldn't put up the points and stats they did. Its a chess match. There is the initial playcall, followed by the reality of discerning how the defense plans to attack you. Plenty of times where the called offensive play is a bad choice for what the defensive call is. Why even have audibles?

Which audibling is a responsibility of playing qb. And 3 guys are not out there themselves beating DCs.

LOL!
He may well have been right.
It's year 3, not year 10.

Goff didn't succeed until his coach called plays and audibles for him.
Wentz is another guy that excelled with a whiz kid at OC but has done not much the other 2 seasons.

But Dak is not ready or capable to simply pick defenses part at this point.
Neither with calls or talent.
The scheme needs to get him some wins and let his toughness and game mgmt win you games.

Lol...believe that if you want to. Dak is not the type to throw anyone under the bus.

Yeah, Wentz is really struggling in Year 3, what with his *checks notes * 298 yds/game, 68% completion percentage, and 8/1 TD/INT ratio.
