Contrary to what others say, it the Jags lack of a game plan against Beasley. Beasley had over half of the receptions and yardage
The jags didn’t follow the defensive game plan that almost every other team has done that has stopped this offense- double cover Cole Beasley and see if anyone else can beat you.
That Beasley game plan is what Denver did last year and every other team started copying it with great success. Btw, most teams by last years end didn’t even bother to double Dez anymore. He was fairly easy to cover in a single.
As far as the Dak situation, one thing that is the lamest criticism of him is the passing yardage thing. The way this team is built, it is not trying to throw for 300 yards. This is a run first offense and in today’s game Dak had an almost perfect first half. He didn’t need to pass in 2nd half.
Dak is NEVER going to be a gunslinger. He is nothing like Romo and shouldn’t try to be. His skill set is more about moving and throwing on the run using play action and running himself. He’s never going to be a great pocket passer.
We should judge Dak by the win column not the stat sheet.
I really don’t care how many yards Dak throws for if the team wins. Dak reminds me of a tough QB from the old days who wasn’t a great passer but was athletic enough to make plays. A guy like Jim McMahon of the 85 Bears or the old 70s Vikings QB Joe Kapp. Not great passers but both very effective.
