Unfortunately since its looking more and more like we will be 8-8 again, and we all know that Jerry isn't smart enough to just trade up for Herbert to ensure a ring, so lets draft assuming we dont trade:
Pick 1: Rashan Gary DE Michigan
An outside rusher who can do it all. He is lightning fast into the pocket. He can rush from any point on the line standing, or hand in the dirt. Him and Tank would make a duo to fear. Gary, Woods, Irving, Lawrence, Taco, Gregory, Crawford, Collins, Armstrong, Ross. Thats your DL depth. Thats scary.
Pick 2: Taylor Rapp SS Washington.
This dude is the real deal, instinctive, hard hitting, and a leader of the secondary. Personally, i think Heath is best off the bench, and Rapp is just better at everything.
Pick 3: Anthony Johnson WR Buffalo.
At 6'2" 207 this kid is a deep threat that can get 50/50 balls like Dez could. He reminds me a lot of young Dez. Long highlight reel strong catches and possession catches 5-10 yards consistently. Huge upside if he can sharpen his routes.
Pick 4: Troy Dye LB Oregon.
Im in love with Oregon. But not just because Im a fan, but because for the next few years they have some of the best talent coming out into the draft. First off Dye is an amazing ILB who would be able to play Sam. He is instinctive and hard hitting. He can over persue, but has the upside to be a pro-bowl LB athleticism wise.
Oregon on its team right now has:
Herbert, Jelks, Dye, Scott, Sewell, Mitchell, Graham, Holland, Lenoire all kinda peaking my draft radar interest. These guys will be big time.
Pick 5 (still round 4): Caleb Wilson TE UCLA
A speedy 6'4" tight end who can do it all. He mainly uses his speed as a mismatch and has the ability to create seperation in the seem.
Pick 6: Daniel Jones QB Duke
Accurate pocket passer. Not taking him to be the franchise, but taking him as an upside play that could push Dak. He goes to Duke so he is being overlooked somewhat, he has arm talent to be an NFL qb. I think he could come in and start and be very good if we needed him too. Better than White and Rush
Pick 7: Ryan Bee DT Marshall
High upside DT. Doesnt get moved out of position easily. Very aware player. Not particularly great at anything, but not horrific at anything either. Would really push the back end of our DL depth. He can play from anywhere on the line, but is best inside, like Crawford. He would be able to push.
End up with a primary roster looking like this:
Wr1: Michael Gallup, (Allen Hurns)
Wr2: Allen Hurns, Anthony Johnson, Terrence Williams
SWr: Cole Beasley, Deionte Thompson
TE: Caleb Wilson, Geoff Swaim, Rico Gathers, Dalton Schultz
QB: Dak Prescott, Daniel Jones, Mike White
RB: Ezekiel Elliott, Rod Smith, Tavon Austin
FB: Jamize Olawale
LT: Tyron Smith, Cameron Flemming
LG: Connor Williams, Joe Looney
C: Travis Fredrick
RG: Zack Martin, Parker Ehinger
RT: La'el Collins
RDE: Rashan Gary, Taco Charleton, Randy Gregory
1t: Antwaun Woods, Ryan Bee, Daniel Ross
3t: David Irving, Malik Collins, Tyrone Crawford
LDE: Demarcus Lawrence, Dorance Armstrong
Sam: Joe Thomas, Chris Covington
Mlb: Jaylon Smith, Troy Dye
Wlb: Sean Lee, Leighton Vander-Esch
CB1: Byron Jones
CB2: Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis
SCB: Anthony Brown
FS: Earl Thomas, Xavier Woods, Darian Thompson
SS: Taylor Rapp, Jeff Heath, Kavon Frazier
