I live in Jersey I told all the giants fans Solder isn't that good and you can't really gauge NE o lineman cuz of the system and QB. They didn't believe me.
I laughed my butt off when I saw what they paid him. Their GM is off his rocker.

He's worth more than a 5th, a lot more. And $10M for Snacks is a steal.

Why would snacks not help their next QB?

But this isnt abour snacks, I've been saying this since the offseason as I said in the exact comment you quoted.

1. They picked a RB over QB in a strong class
2. Gave up draft capital for Ogletree who is garbage
3. Signed ancient Johnathan Stewart for a much larger contract than he should have demanded
4. Signed Solder to the largest Oline contract, despite him being a slightly above average LT
5. They were debating not extending OBJ at the time which would have been really dumb

I'm with you on all but #5. OBJ has elite level talent, but a ten cent brain. That contract will probably prove to be a poor signing long term.

We'll see. I know he's a dummy often, but I also think he's a top 6 NFL player. I believe he wins you many more games by his awesome play than he loses you by being a dummy.

Appreciate the feedback though!

It'll be nice not having to see that guy twice a year.

I almost feel bad for the Giants. Almost.
I wish we were as smart as them, realizing to purge the roster because its not working instead of trading first round picks so we can somehow end up 8-8

2018- $4.559M
2019- $7M

His salary is somewhat steep considering his modest productivity. That might be a problem.
Yea, but there's an out after this year (I think it's team option, but not sure) and if you cut him after next year, it's only $4m in dead money. Depending on the team, one year of a bad contract might not be that awful, but off the top of my head I'm not sure who might be interested in that type of risk.

I think he is but if he’s not available I think the prospects go waaaaaaay down. I’ve only seen Herbert play a few times, he’s good but he makes some really stupid decisions which should be correctable but that’s not always the case (see Eli Manning).
Good to know and just curious why your down on Lock?

Btw im mad that we refuse to upgrade the 1-tech. Snacks would make this defense top 5
Jerry's still mad Russell Maryland signed with the Raiders. He's been butthurt about the pick and we haven't even sniffed a viable one technique defensive tackle.

People said that about the Giants going into this season - that between their draft and getting Beckham back the Cowboys would be left lagging. That hasn't happened, and I don't see how trading Harrison for a 5th rounder gets the Giants any closer to being a good team.
Giants GM- Dave Gettleman

Cowboys GM- Jerry Jones

Nothing else needs to be said

Honestly I haven’t seen him play too much so my opinion is skewed more off what I’ve read. It’s a bit unfair and I don’t like to judge anyone off what I hear but I trust scouts and people who know more abotu what it takes to be an NFL QB more than myself. I can’t remember the name of the site, but I provided a link a few months ago, that had a good breakdown of all the QB prospects and it was updated on a regular basis. If I can find it I’ll post it again.

I agree. But the Giants weren't going to trade him to us.

The real issue is that we offered Tyrone Crawford a new contract the year before Snacks became a FA.

Their contracts are almost identical (around 5yr, 45mil-- Crawford just got more guaranteed money)
They wouldve if we overpaid like usual.

You dont think they wouldve given him to us for a 3?

In fact, the deadskins were the team that we made a trase with that allowed us to move up and take our best defensive player, Tank
