Let's face it, the real reason we got Cooper is because we just have to have someone to run the jet sweep. Against Washington, we even had a defensive back (Jourdan Lewis) do it because of Austin being out.

Not having Austin to run the jet sweep and four or five fake sweeps clearly caused our offense to stall against the Commanders, so how do you fix that? You go get another speedy receiver. Dallas' front office knows that if they fix the jet sweep, it fixes everything that is wrong with our offense.

And the great thing is that when Austin returns, we can run the double-reverse jet sweep ... and we'll be unstoppable.

Sure, but Jourdan Lewis left practice and demanded to be traded when he heard he wasn't the jet sweep guy anymore.

Mostly. Probably 90 percent. I do think Cooper would be the obvious choice to run the sweep and the fakes with Austin out ... but I don't think that's why we got him.

I would not be surprised to see him run the occasional jet sweet just as other teams will use it. However I think the main reason is to have someone with the skills sets and rout running ability to attack more down field.
