how good would the Giants be if they traded for Carr right now? all those receiving weapons + Barkley
I don't think he would do well. Oakland has a better OL than the Giants and he struggles already. Give him more pressure and hits and I think he would seriously fail. Carr just isn't that good of a QB but if he went to a team with a decent OL and weapons I think he would be solid....... Just my opinion, although I think he might do better than Eli

Your original response stated
"A top 5 defense wouldve kept Deshaun Watson from going right down the field to win the game in overtime."

Yet you would argue that a "real" Top 5 defense like Baltimore would allow a lesser talented offensive team to do the same and yet they are still worthy of that ranking.

We gave up 7 points more to a much more explosive offense in Houston. Would you also wish to argue that the Browns have a better offense than the Texans?

Because right now, you're not making a lot of sense.
You obviously didnt watch that Ravens/Browns game. That game ended with just 5 seconds left in overtime.

In the texans game, they got the ball with 4:58 left in overtime and got all the way to our 27 in 1:20 seconds. They started the drive on their own 11 yard line.

Now tell me how the 2 situations compare? They went right down the field in a few plays. 62 yards in a little over 1 minute.

Stop it.

I should have said "before Gruden"

he was pretty good in 15 & 16
he looks broken now... he might benefit from a change like that

Oh yeah I agree with you there. He was in mvp conversation at one time. Seems like after his injury is when he went down hill.

It was the Browns. Who has a better offense, Houston or Cleveland? It was a rookie QB. Who is better, Mayfield or Watson? He put up 30 yards fewer than Watson. The Browns drove 65 yards in OT. They won. It was damn near a mirror image of our game with the Texans. Your argument doesn't hold any water and you know it, but do continue to try.

Btw im mad that we refuse to upgrade the 1-tech. Snacks would make this defense top 5
Snacks Harrison alone added to our defense we would have beat Washington. That guy is a tank all if that pulling that they did with the guard and center coming around the end to block out LBs would have been destroyed. You can pull your center AND your guard with Harrison on top of them. He would have been an awesome pickup.

Using this type of thinking we'd have never made the Herschel Walker trade!!!!!!

Only way to really rebuild is to trade established vets for high draft picks. 3 first round picks next draft is nothing to sneeze at.

Come on, you should know that wasn't remotely the same thing. We didn't just trade one player for one pick. For Herschel, two 3rd round picks, and a 10th round pick, Dallas got Minnesota's 1st AND 2nd round picks in 1990, 1991 and 1992, plus another 3rd and 6th round pick.

After the trade and all the draft maneuverings, Dallas parlayed the deal into 6 first round picks in 3 years, 4 second round picks in those same 3 years, and 6 third round picks in those 3 years, plus multiple lower picks. The Raiders didn't get a fraction of that for Cooper or Mack. They didn't even get anything close to that for both of them combined.

I'm not saying 3 first round picks is something to sneeze at. It's not. But 2 of those picks will be used in an effort to offset the loss of players they already had, and plays that will be hard to match with draft picks.

Pretty sure the Giants would only take a 2nd from the Cowboys.

Maybe, but does he study tape and evaluate? Jerry himself said he did not. Does he hire qualified personnel and let them make the decisions? Jerry does not.

I specifically said Jerry is not a good GM and that I am not trying to prop up Jerry. My point was that the Giant's having a "football guy" as the GM does not ensure anything.

Youre moving goalposts. That game was no damn mirror image. Houston went right down the field in 5 or so plays in overtime to win it. Hardly characteristic of a top 5 defense.

Remember the drive Stafford led that almost cost us the Lions game? Top.5.Defense!!!!

Move along now and leave football discussion alone for awhile.

The goalposts are firmly planted and you are running yourself in circles around them trying to frame a cogent argument. You've failed miserably but it's been entertaining watching you try.

No goalposts moved.

Youre telling me a top defense lets a team march right down the field and score in less than 2 minutes?

You are a fool.

Haha when the argument is lost the name calling begins. Tell me, how long did the Browns, with their horrible offense, take to get in FG range on their final drive?

I'll give you a hint...less than 2 minutes.

Same scenario as our game, who cares if it was the beginning or end of overtime? That's completely irrelevant to the argument but keep grasping at straws.

Its not the same scenario. Youre comparing Houston’s first drive on offense to the Brown’s third. Its not even remotely the same.

In overtime. Ravens held the Browns to drives of:

3 plays 6 yards- Punt

5 plays 47 yards- Turnover on Downs

7 plays 65 yards- FG/GW

They gave their offense two additional times to win the game. Our defense couldnt even get us the ball back once.

I win. You Lose.

There is a race to the bottom. The Giants and the Raiders. Both teams are tanking to be able to select the top QB for next years draft.

It. Was. The. Browns.
It. Was. A. Rookie. Qb.
A top 5 defense shouldn't even be IN OVERTIME against that scenario and that dumpster fire squad.
You know it.
I know it.
Everyone watching us go back and forth over this knows it.
You. Are. Wrong.

THEY WERE IN OVERTIME BECAUSE THEIR OFFENSE WASNT WORTH A DAMN.

HAVE YOU LOST YOUR DAMN MIND? THEY GAVE UP 9 POINTS IN REGULATION!

And its laughable hearing you act like Houston is some juggernaut and that we are much better than the browns :lmao:

The Browns are in much better shape going forward than we are. They have a qb and are way better at the skills positions.

Oh and btw, since mayfield has became starter:

Cleveland ppg: 23.5

Houston ppg: 24
