I like Noah Brown. I think he has something about him. I think he can be somewhere between WR and TE. Not saying a star. But I think he can create mismatches. I hope they activate him and try him out. I just hate when they. Keep people on Practice Squard for 2-3 years and hyping them up and nothing.

RB - Jordan Chunn is the player I'm most concerned about on PS because Rod Smith could gone as a FA with no clear backup to Zeke. Chunn is a big, all-purpose RB that is tough to tackle. Cowboys have 3 RBs on the 53...3...they can call up Chunn.

Also, after looking at the roster I really like the OL depth, especially once TFred is healthy. You could have starters Looney n Fill as backups next season... that's good depth.

Let's take a look ahead to 2019...

QB
1. Dak Prescott (25/26 July)
2. Cooper Rush (25/26 Nov)
3. Mike White (23/24 March)

All players should go to training camp with White expected to push Rush for the #2 job. If that happens, will Rush show enough to remain as #3 or be sent packing? I don't see adding a veteran QB, even if there's a change at offensive coordinator, unless the team is really down on White and he fails to grab the #2 job.

RB
4. Ezekiel Elliott (23/24 July)
5. Darius Jackson (25/26 next Dec)
6. Jordan Chunn (23/24 Jan) - currently on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract

It's unclear if the team will spend salary cap space to re-sign current back-up Rod Smith or if some rookies will be added to the mix. Jackson can help as a returner, unsure if Chunn brings any special teams value.
Also need to add multiple rookie FBs with the hope of finding someone who can replace Jamize Olawale.

WR
7. Amari Cooper (24/25 June)
8. Michael Gallup (22/23 March)
9. Noah Brown (22/23 Jan)
10. Cedrick Wilson (23/24 March)
11. Lance Lenoir (23/24 Feb) - expected to re-sign on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract
12. Reggie Davis (23/24) - currently on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract

Terrance Williams (29/30 Sept) - likely to be released

Position has seen a lot of change since last year and we know who the starters are on the outside. Slot receiver is a question mark with Cole Beasley and Tavon Austin both set for free agency. Beaz is productive but streaky while Austin is explosive and brittle.

TE
13. Dalton Schultz (22/23 July)
14. Blake Jarwin (24/25 July)
15. Rico Gathers (24/25 Jan)

Group isn't a s bad as some make out, but would be nice to add a talented rookie in late April.

OL
16. Tyron Smith (28/29 Dec)
17. Connor Williams (21/22 May)
18. Travis Frederick (27/28 March)
19. Zack Martin (28/29 Nov)
20. La'el Collins (25/26 July)
21. C/G Joe Looney (28/29 Aug)
22. G Xavier Su'a-Filo (27/28 Jan)
23. C/G Parker Ehinger (25/26 Dec 30th) - Injured Reserve
24. C/G Adam Redmond (25/26 May)
25. G Dustin Stanton (24/25 Feb) - Injured Reserve
26. OT Jake Campos (24/25 Oct) - currently on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract
27. G Cody Wichmann (26/27 March) - currently on Practice Squad, possibly to sign Futures contract
28. G Oni Omile (25/26 June) - currently on Practice Squad, possibly to sign Futures contract

Unit struggled adapting to Paul Alexander's style before he was replaced with Marc Colombo and Hudson Houck in late October. Will go to off-season with outstanding interior depth and a big hole at swing tackle. Need to fill it with a veteran and try to find a 4th OT worth keeping on the 53 to develop.

DL
29. DL Tyrone Crawford 29/30 Nov)
30. DE Randy Gregory (26/27 Nov)
31. DE Taco Charlton (24/25 Nov)
32. DE Dorance Armstrong (21/22 June)
33.DT Maliek Collins (23/24 April)
34. DT Antwaun Woods (25/26 Jan)
35. DT Daniel Ross (25/26 March)
36. DL Aziz Shittu (24/25 July) - currently on Practice Squad, possibly to sign Futures contract

DeMarcus Lawrence wants to get paid and could be a hold out if hit with the Franchise tag again. Also need to find a new 3Tech, even in the unlikely event David Irving returns on a one year deal. Taco needs to grow up and bring his lunch pail to work every day, Gregory should really benefit from a drama free off-season focused on football provided he stays clean and Armstrong hopefully makes a big jump in year two.

LB
37. Sean Lee (32/33 July)
38. Jaylon Smith (23/24 June)
39. Leighton Vander Esch (22/23 Feb)
40. Joe Thomas (27/28 May)
41. Chris Covington (22/23 Jan)
42. Kyle Queiro (24/25 Dec) - currently on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract

Speculation has already begun if it's time for Lee to retire or be released following the season. Is he ready to become a coach? Group is set long term with Van Jaylon, Covington should take Damien Wilson's spot and Queiro or an undrafted rookie replaces Justin March-Lillard.

DB
43. CB Byron Jones (26/27 Sept)
44. CB Chidobe Awuzie (23/24 May)
45. CB Anthony Brown (25/26 Dec)
46. CB Jourdan Lewis (23/24 Aug)
47. SS Jeff Heath (27/28 May)
48. FS Xavier Woods 23/24 July)
49. SS Kavon Frazier 24/25 Aug)
50. CB Donovan Olumba (23/24 Sept) - currently on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract
51. CB Treston DeCoud (25/26 Aug) - currently on Practice Squad, likely to sign Futures contract

ST
52. K Brett Maher (29/30 Nov)
53. P Chris Jones (29/30 July)

LS L.P. Ladouceur will likely re-sign again, but team needs to be looking hard for a younger option. Maher has been good as a rookie but isn't safe from being challenged. Jones is solid and signed an extension last year, but could still be replaced if a new addition surprised.

Free Agents
1. DE DeMarcus Lawrence (26/27 April) - Will re-sign long term or get Franchised again, which could lead to ugly hold out.
2. WR Cole Beasely (29/30 April) - Does he stay or go? Team wanted to make a deal in camp and he opted to play out contract.
3. WR Tavon Austin (28/29 March) - Might come down to who takes the cheaper deal between he and Beaz.
4. DT David Irving (25/26 Aug) - As disruptive off the field as he is on it (when he plays),. Would the team even consider a one year deal with incentives or is it time to punt?
5. OT Cameron Fleming (26/27 Sept) - Worth every penny this year, but may get more money and a better opportunity for snaps elsewhere.
6. FB Jamize Olawale (29/30 April) - Could come back on minimum deal with some incentives but would be hoping to find some new blood.
7. LS L.P. Ladouceur (37/38 March) - Should be back, believe he wants to play until age 40.
8. DT Caraun Reid (27/28 Nov) - Definitely worth taking to camp as injury insurance but unlikely to make the cut otherwise.
9. LB Damien Wilson (25/26 May) - Will be playing in a different uniform next season.
10. RB Rod Smith (26/27 Jan) - May return, but could be too expensive to keep considering role on offense.
11. TE Geoff Swaim (25/26 Sept) - Not shutting the door, but don't see the Longhorn returning.
12. C/G Marcus Martin (25/26 Nov) - Unlikely to return, but could be decent if he gets in shape like Ron Leary and Joe Looney did.
13. DL Datone Jones (28/29 July) - Unlikely to return, though team does seem to like him.
14. LB Justin March-Lillard (25/26 July) - Goodbye. Special teams players need to be on cheap, rookie contracts.
15 DT Daniel Ross (25/26 March) - Exclusive Rights Free Agent will make for good camp depth/insurance but long shot to wear the star again.
16. SS Darian Thompson (25/26 Sept) - Restricted Free Agent may not get tendered due to cost, might re-sign for minimum if gets no better offers.

Good stuff....nice breakdown

Should have around 70m with rollover to work with signing our guys and adding a FA or 2

It's going to be an active off-season, though the focus will be on retaining our own players as it always is, I do hope we add a couple of outside free agents at areas of need.

DE could become a real strength with the players we currently have, so how will the team address DT?

We can't expect a day two or three rookie to make a huge impact in year one. Will it be in house guys like Maliek Collins and Tyrone Crawford? Will the team even consider David Irving on a one year deal? How about an outsider like Bennie Logan, Sheldon Richardson or someone more off the radar?

I forgot someone.

17. WR Allen Hurns (27/8 Nov) - Team will decline picking up his 2019 option year, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Will Hurns likely be cut or get an injury settlement.

Would an injury settlement effect our cap?
