Game starts off a little slow, but starting to pick up now. I can only play about a few hours a week so this game will probably last me a year, which I won't mind. Very few games come out that I am interested in playing, and I've been waiting on this one for years.

Yup, I absolutely agree. I thought it was a pretty slow start myself but the deeper I dive into the game the more I really enjoy it. Plus, the map is just absolutely gorgeous and fun to traverse. Definitely though this game is going to take some time to progress through.

I was actually a little down on it at first, because I found the controls hard to get use to. But I eventually did, and once I just started roaming the land I’ve fallen in love. This is up there with the Witcher 3.

Not sure anything will ever touch Witcher 3 in my book. That game was simply amazing until I walked into a brothel, learned that it only costs 40 coin to 'spend some time' with the lady of my choosing and then learned that it's a never ending buffet. Tough to beat that extra perk!:omg::laugh:

I've spent HOURS roaming the land, in Red Dead, looking for a dang fishing pole because I want to dang fish!!! There's so many streams, ponds, etc. but not one poor sole fishing. I'm not abandoning my quest until I find a dang pole.

You get the pole from a story mission. And yes I have serious doubt anything will ever be as good as Witcher 3.

Hilarious!! I read this earlier and then I went and played some RDR2. The very first mission I did when I turned the game on today was go fishing. You take the kid in camp (Jack) down to the river and teach him to fish. It equips a fishing pole in your inventory wheel.

My man!!!! Thanks!!! LOL Obviously, I was waiting on the missions because I wanted to explore. I was dead set on finding an old fart fishing, shooting him in the foot and taking his fishing gear. Hey, it sounded really good! :lmao2:

I saw a guy fishing yesterday and was thinking about killing him to see if I could get his pole but read where you actually get in a mission and decided not to. I didn't want a bounty trying to see if I could steal his pole.

Praxit, I loved Arkham Knight (I love Batman though, as evident in my avatar :D)! Excellent game.

Lodues, I agree. It is amazing. At first I thought it was a bit slow, but once I got into the groove of it, it has been a fantastic gaming experience. Also, I cannot even express to you guys how much I love the graphics. So much detail. Just an absolute gorgeous game.

I hate that!!! I'm mostly a console guy but I have definitely experienced a PC crashing and it is absolutely frustrating.

Started playing this over the last few days. I must say I'm very impressed over all.

I'm not terribly far into the game, and I never played the first one so I went into this totally cold and blind as to what kind of game this might be. It started out a little slow for me. It was honestly in danger, in the beginning, of losing my interest to the point that I wasn't going to play through it. But I decided to give it a real go and finish out a lot of side stuff and such here in Chapter 2 and just see if it grows on me.

Now I'm getting to where I believe must be close to the end of Chapter 2 and I'm really enjoying the game. There are some things I wish were better. I feel like the movement is very...sluggish. I'm just really not a fan of the movement at all. A lot of times I feel like you just move way to slow. Now that is a personal bias, for me, cause I hate slow moving, even when I'm running, characters. I like to run everywhere For example in games like Wild Lands, Far Cry, etc. that are open world I run everywhere. I very rarely use vehicles or anything. I like to run, and explore.

With this game that's just not feasible because you move far to slowly on foot and your stuff, even as you level up, runs out way to fast to get anywhere. I do like the movement on horseback so at least that is better but it could definitely benefit from better moving mechanics. IMHO.

But really outside that I enjoy it. I love the hunting feature. I haven't fished yet but hunting is fun. I love the gun play, for the most part, I think I'd enjoy it more from first person but that's just a person preference more then anything game related.

So far it's a really great game that I'm enjoying. Interesting characters and story. Definitely would recommend it to people for sure.

Yeah I can relate to you on some of that. I mostly hate the camps/some of the cities where they make you walk around at a brisk pace. It does get kind of annoying.

Also, there is a 1st person view on the game. I would have to have to the controller in my hand to remember the exact button but you can change your perspective on the character, including going first person.

I have only been playing a couple of days{and I love it} but I believe it is the touchpad that toggles 1st/3rd person.

Oh? Man I'll look for that. Thank you. That would make that part SO much better. Appreciate the heads up.
