I was like, "Come on Dak get rid of the ball, you're holding onto it way too long"

Dak had a play in the first half where he put his chin down and stepped up, creating space, and nailed his target because he was then able to step INTO the throw. In the second half he had a similar situation, remained erect and drifting back and was sacked because the rushers had closed on him and choked off his passing lane.

It's maddening to watch how many times Dak takes a sack due to drifting straight back when he could step up and buy himself a second or two to reload.
Chicago (Daniels) 4 sacks. - Detroit (Stafford) 2 sacks but 2 INTs too . Atlanta (Matt Ryan) 6 sacks - New Orleans - (1 sack) QBR 119, Daks was 129

NFL defenses sack QBs in case you guys didn't know.

Probably not set up to handle a stunt quite that way.

They showed a shot of Linehan in the booth before that play. I'm real good at reading lips and I could tell that he told Dak to drop back like he was going to pass, but the offensive line isn't going to be able to stop the pass rush, so spin out of the pocket to escape the pressure, dodge a defender then follow your blockers to the end zone. Don't forget to somersault into the end zone just the way we practiced this play Tuesday.

Who needs Jimmy's and Joe's when you got X's and O's?

It is so frustrating to watch and I was getting real down on Dak but then they showed the replays. There is never anyone open quickly because the route trees are not designed that way. One replay they showed on a sack and not one single WR or TE had even turned around yet and Dak was running for his life. It’s 90% the design of the offense and 10% Dak. It’s 3rd and 4 and they call a play with no quick read to get 5 yards. Instead, every route takes 2-3 seconds or more to develop and Dak has nowhere to go with the ball.
That exact play you are talking about had a wide open hot read in rod Smith for a first down on a quick out
