Funny you would mention that.......

The bright side of the achilles is that he can just walk away now. Sure, he'll try to rehab, but it will be like this year, where no one is biting with the kind of offer he wants. If he comes back and fails, he'll go down as not being able to come back from the achilles.

New Orleans was a great opportunity for him. It's too bad he didn't get that chance to play on a winner with a QB who could make the most out of him.

Dez as a journeyman complementary player is a huge step down for him unless it brings him a ring. Retiring after having always been The Guy with the Cowboys is a better way for his story to end.

It would have served Dez well to remember his love for the Cowboys before he started criticizing them for selfish reasons.

It's interesting to know that in reconsidering his time with them that he realizes he might have done things a bit differently.
The Cowboys (players and management) criticized Dez way before he said anything negative about them.

As a man, what is he supposed to do?

This is the limitation with Dez. His great plays are of physical freakishness, not execution. You can't ride that into your 30s as a wr.

And that's ok from a career perspective. I think he'd be best off calling it a career and moving on with his life.

The time for doing something for him has long passed. He could have been more supportive when the time was right. Throwing staff members and other players under the bus was a piss poor way to show his loving devotion for the team and their welfare. Now he's all about love, a bit too late, unfortunately. He beat the staff to the punch well before they criticized him. Many here are in denial of that. Sometimes, such things catch up with us.

Its possible to love the franchise that drafted you but not get along with some of the coaches and management.

I'll agree with that but sometimes it's best to sever relations before thing get worse. Unfortunately, that's what happened. The team wouldn't have seen fit to let him go if he were still acting in their best interest. That's how business works to preserve their own stability.

It just shows what we have had.

20 years from now, all that will and should be remembered from Bryant is that he caught a lot of fades for easy TDs and got shafted in Green Bay.

Why do people keep saying Dez was robbed or shafted in Green Bay? A quick read of the 2014 catch rules explains exactly what happened.

Loved Dez' passion for this team by the way.

The hate for Dez is remarkable. Once again, dumbest fanbase in sports.
The haters aren’t nearly as stupid as his diehard lovers are. We don’t appreciate Dez’s statistical accomplishments as much as the fantasy football fans do, but not nearly as dumb.

Just to give you one example, and I have many, Dezzies kept parroting Weeden, Cassel and Moore were responsible for Dez’s crapfest 2015 season when Weeden and Dez didn’t play together and Moore and Dez only played a half of the Jets game together. It was Cassel and Romo who played with Dez.

It was always the QBs fault, except for Romo, despite Dez mentioning the injury and how it mentally impacted him. Nope...Weeden, Cassel, and Moore over and over and over again. Smart group of fans, right?

If you believe in karma both Lee and Frederick has missed a year and for the most part haven't been missed. Vander Esh and Looney in all reality has proven the both of them easily replaceable. Interesting.

Something tells me that Frederick has been missed more than you're willing to admit to. As for Lee, if it wasn't for Leighton Vander Esch being drafted, Lee's absence would have been far tougher to deal with than it was. Looney is getting by but don't confuse his performance with what Frederick's was to this team. It's not really comparable to what Frederick's was. A fair amount of the pressure Dak's gets comes from the middle of the OL.

Are you suggesting both Lee and Frederick did something evil for karma to somehow take vengeance upon them? If so, maybe you need to rethink things just a bit. If karma were a factor, Dez is surely seeing his share of that. Frederick and Lee will always be welcomed by the team in one way or another -- not so with Dez.

As a team leader, Lee tried to advise Dez on what to do to get him out of trouble with the team and he refused to listen to him or anyone else. His tantrums during games was the final straw that made him unwelcome. That and criticizing staff and team players hurt his cause greatly.

There was a window where Tony and Dez played together and enjoyed some good health . These two were fun to watch because they were both just pure draw it in the dirt streetballers . They needed each other to do well but injuries started to derail the duo and at the end Tony was gone and Dez had lost the concentration to catch the ball . It was sadly time to move on.

Just pointing out that the two names Dez brought up had plagued seasons. Not that they done anything evil, but if they suggested that the team can do without Dez, the karma comes in play in the fact that so can they.
Also the pressure up the middle was almost exclusively from Williams getting overpowered.
