Tavon cant run a route tree...…….that is why he is only a gimmick player with sweeps and wildcat plays.

Dont matter how fast you are if you cant run a route tree in the NFL...……….I mean, the freaking Rams with mad scientist McVeigh drawing up Madden plays didnt want the guy. That is how bad he sucks as a WR.

OMG, read what I said and stop responding halfway through the topic. I will repeat for the third time in this thread. I wasn't talking about any of their abilities. I was responding to someone who said this team needs more speed on offense. Nothing more nothing less with those comments. We have speed, period, end of story.

I misunderstood your comment then...............if your point was Tavon is fast............yes, he is very fast, no debate about that.

As far as being able to use that speed in a way that actually helps the team...........not so much.

Dont recall Romo ever being shut out...……….EVER!

Especially not by an AFC team that is not even going to make the playoffs...………..just saying
True but he has put up a couple 3 point stinkers in season ending blowout losses where he was a deer in the headlights, turnover machine. But those 3 points do get him the benefit of saying he was never shut out. Thank you, Nick Folk and Shaun Suisham.

Actually, deer in the headlights is a little generous. He was more like a fawn learning to walk.

If you believe everything you hear and read his biggest strength is turning 200 yards and 1 touchdown a game into 25 million dollars a year ... Heaven Help Us

I see this as a common theme on this board and the radio shows: We need an OC that can design plays around Dak's strengths.

IMO here are Dak's strengths: Great Leadership skills, Great Character, good work ethic, big body and tough to bring down, 'good' runner, Durable, throws well outside the pocket

(I wholeheartedly admin the big 3 he has: Leadership, Character and Durability are amazing traits to have in your franchise QB and those are not teachable by coaching, these skills are inherent)

So what would an offense designed around his strengths look like exactly?

It's interesting that for all the "strengths" you listed only one of them has anything to do with throwing the ball, and nothing to do with any perceived ability to read a defense or decipher coverage. For a guy finishing his 3rd year as a starter, that's not super encouraging

This thread is more illuminating than perhaps you intended

and what years were the 3 point season ending losses? How is it Romo somehow comes into play when Dak is discussed? You do know Romo hasn't played for a few years, if Dak becomes 1/2 the QB Romo or Aikman or Staubach was it would be miraculous. Sad how your Romo phobia can't be controlled, the only deer in the headlights is Dak at this point. Merry Christmas enjoy the game, maybe Dak will surprise everyone and throw some accurate passes beyond 10 yards and hit a few wide open receivers in stride, what a gift that would be.

no answer, what were the games you speak of?
merry Christmas
Oh, that wasn’t a rhetorical question? They were so bad your suppressed the memories? I don’t blame you.

They were 2008, week 17 debacle against Philly in the game Romo said afterwards that he would have led a pretty good life if that is the worse that ever happened to him.

Then followed that up the next year being a turnover machine against Minnesota.

But let me guess, it was everyone else’s fault except Romo, right?

Merry Christmas to you, too.

Edit: we may have lost that one game 44-6. I may be mistaken. Don’t want to short Romo 3 points

It would look like the 2016 O-line around him, an added slot receiver and a shiny new 2'nd round TE

He also said his biggest disappointment was not taking the best team he ever had around him, the 2009 team, to the SB even though he never had good teams around him ;)

If that's all he has then he doesn't possess the skills to be an NFL QB. I think you missed something because he has presented more than just what you give him credit for. An NFL QB has to think quick, read defenses and act on that information. Without that, he'll never make it in this league. Do you not see those things in Dak too?
