Learn from your past mistakes Jerry. Don't let Richard leave. Keep him by any means necessary.
How do you stop somebody who wants to advance his career?

Seriously.

This ain't 1865 and we do not chain people to the bennch.

If he goes..

so be it.

I wish him well.

It's what all of us want.

Money and control of our destiny thru success.

Payton was an offensive coach.

His background prepared him for his success.

Drew Brees helped a bit.

My bigger concern would be if he took any of our other coaches with him.

I am sure he raids Seattle a bunch when he leaves, too.

No reason to worry yet. From what he does now and what he was hired to do to a HC is a huge jump. JJ could make him DC and assistant HC and maybe that will be what he would be happy with. JJ has to throw money his way for sure. JJ should have signed him to a multi year contract to start...

He will only leave for a HC job. IMO

And if he lands one of those I will be happy for him and hope Dallas beats the brakes of his team whenever they match up.

Fire JG and promote Richard.

Can anybody actually see a Jones/Richard partnership working out in Dallas?

I’m not concerned with losing him as others but if he does go good for him. Nothing you can do about a guy getting a raise.
I don’t think anyone is gonna offer him HC
I could be wrong but I suspect with the lack of real quality QB in the league that most teams are gonna look for a guy to develope a QB, not a defense
But we shall see
If he gets a HC job then good for him

At the end of the day, whether you admit it or not, it comes down to MONEY. If Richard gets a HC offer of $3 mill a year with the Jets vs an upgraded position of $4 mill a year with Dallas..money talks. No need to move family, make more money, stay with players you know. Makes sense, money will talk.

that guy was walking into a defense that was just primed to take off. He leaves and it will be like most others... big deal.

Hey, how did fat man do in detroit this year?

No way he gets a HC offer this year. Just not happening. I like him as much as the next fan but tap the breaks a bit. NO WAY he has earned a head coaching job yet.
