Without putting any thought whatsoever into it I can already think of 4 candidates just off the top of my head who will get offers before Richard, and there are many more if I actually take the time to think about it.
In no particular order
1... McCarthy
2.. Carmichael from New Orleans
3..Eberflus
4..McDaniels Patriots

Oh,... and Pat Fitzgerald from Northwestern will most likely get the Packer Job so thats 5.

6... Vic Fangio Chicago. He has been one of the best Def Co in the business since Moses was in Diapers.

What personality works with Jerry's besides a Muppet? I know what you are saying but I think the real question is does Richard work well with Stephen? From what I can tell so far, it does. That doesn't mean anything though. We'll see.

Jerry’s a blocking issue to this team’s success in a lot of ways. We’re not hiring a coach who can’t work around him. Even now.

Can anybody actually see a Jones/Richard partnership working out in Dallas?
If Richards is smart enough, he could handle the jones boys and keep them happy.
Even more so if the team changed for the better and became a real SB contender in just one year.

I'm about 50/50 whether we stays in Dallas. The dude can coach, no doubt about it. You also have to remember that he has to accept a DC position if he stays. Someone could throw a ton of money at him for DC, I'd think Jerry would match, but teams can get pretty desperate

I could also see him getting a HC gig. I doubt too many people care about Carroll's "reasons", because it's Pete Carroll, and mainly because Richard's production speaks for itself, in a passing league.

Obviously it will depend on who he wants or agrees to as OC, which might actually help his case. I don't know, but I think he'd be tempting for a team with some defensive talent and cap room. He'll probably get a chance sooner than later anyway.

So what you are saying (and I agree) is that Garrett will most likely be our coach until Jerry pushes Daisy's. It's a simple fact. I'd rather just stick with Garrett than some other Jerry "Puppet"...

It’s an unusual guy who can both coach well and coexist with Jerry. Guys I really like, like Jim Harbaugh and probably Richard I don’t think are good fits. There are other good coaches out there who could probably work. Somebody like Andy Reid, for example, might have the right temperament. But they are fewer and farther in-between.

Jerry has his strengths, as well. So it’s not all bad. But he’s a negative in this situation.

Jerry wants to "have fun".. I guess that means even if we SUCK. As long as he is "having fun"...seems to be all that matters (at our expense)...

Fans be tripping again. First of all , i hate to say it, it was probably the Rooney rule. second of all, the jets have had DC Head coaches and probably want to hit on the offensive trend. Relax. You guys dont even know what Richard wants to do. He might want to take a few more years to learn and get his rep up. He wasnt the best thing when he left Seattle and frankly they didnt really miss much with him gone. Notice they are in the playoffs too. Chill out and let the chips fall first.

If you don't like the owner why don't you stop whining and change teams ?

I like him as a defensive assistant/coordinator but if we were looking for Garrett's replacement, he wouldn't even be in my Top-5

Richard is going to get interviewed, but his problem is, he's a defensive coach in a league of offense.

Teams with young QBs will want offensive playcalling type of coaches first.

Learn from your past mistakes Jerry. Don't let Richard leave. Keep him by any means necessary.
We haven’t lost him yet and if we do, so be it. I’d like to keep him as DC and I’m sure Jerry will do all he can to make that happen.
