I don’t know what the sack goal numbers were for Dallas, but they didn’t reach it. I also think the emphasis was shifted from getting more sacks to just better overall positional play. Guys are hustling and making plays, and it’s paying off.

Our sack percentage away from home is terrible, 30th in the NFL. That doesn't bode well for the playoffs. We need the defense to step up their road game.

That does look horrible bro. I hope it steps up big time

On the plus side our defense is 10th in scoring on the road and 7th at home. So even without sacks they are keeping points off of the board. But the Giants D was only ranked like 17th in scoring going into the 2007 playoffs, so it's possible the D will just get on a roll. We can hope.

We had more sacks this season than the last two times we made the playoffs.

They were on pace to be top 10 and the Hot Boyz were so hot the first half of the season. They cooled off the second half.

We're not getting the kind of production you want from the 3-tech spot. Irving's situation hurt us in that regard. We haven't been bad there with Collins and Crawford, who is also splitting time at end, but you need a disruptor at that position.

Gregory and Lawrence both have done well at end, and we've been at blitzing than in the past. Plus, we have to remember that sacks aren't as important as keeping the quarterback uncomfortable in the pocket ... and I think we've been pretty good at that overall. We just need that consistent pocket collapser to round out our outside guys.

DLaw, Gregory, and Collins make a nice pass-rushing trio. Gregory just needs to play a whole year like he has the 2nd half of this year and hopefully Collins and DLaw will be a little healthier next year.

Gregory had 1 sack in the first half of the season, 5 in the second half plus 2 forced fumbles. Next year it's double digits as long as he makes the field.
