I was at the game so a I haven't heard much on this topic. We at least have Heath who can kick an extra point or a short field goal.

That's piss poor planning on the Seahawks part to have no one who can even kick an extra point!

I'd be surprised what the norm is around the league, with regards to how many teams would actually trot their emergency kicker out in situations. It's one thing to label someone as their emergency kicker, it's another to actually send him out there for a 35-yard PAT.

I thought about that too, Aikman was saying they should take the FG down by 10 and then go for the onside kick. How does a pro team not have their punter or some Jeff Heath type ready to try 30 yard FGs? Half the posters on this website could do that. In fact, Locimus is good from the 40.

I doubt half the posters on this site could kick a 30 FG at a greater than 30% success rate. Maybe even lower. Still surprised Seattle didn't have a backup plan.

Yeah but realistically, we don't have a backup either. Heath could barely make the extra points that he tried.

Hardly any team will prepare for a kicker getting injured like that, mid-game

I don’t know, but their kickers gave me plenty of comedy time. That was classic stuff.

That was an awful onside kick
:lmao:

I did notice in the post game presser that Carroll made it a point to say Janikowski had never had that injury in his life.
Trying to cover his butt fir having no backup plan

We've done it...successfully.

That was hilarious when Janikowski put his cig down long enough to shuffle out, miss a FG, and proceed to injure himself in the process.

Classic Janikowski.

Janikowski did have it once before, but it was right after the Korean War so they cut him some slack on it.

That was an awful onside kick, Beasley has some of the best hands in the league and he only had to move a few steps to catch it. That was easier than fielding a punt for him.
