Screw that. If in the event we make it to the NFC Championship game & somehow end up LOSING, I'd be way less upset to lose to the Saints, than I would if it meant letting the Eagles advance to the Super Bowl. The sooner that team is Eliminated, if they weren't good, they wouldn't be playing in the Divisional round right now, regardless of how they got here. Both teams worry me.
Egals aren't good. They're LUCKY!!!! Doink Doink

I guess making the line where I said 'regardless of how they got here" wasn't worthy of being made bold or being read? If they weren't "Good", #1. They wouldn't have made the playoffs & #2. The Bears wouldn't have been behind, to have Needed to attempt that FG to Win in the game the first place.

buddy...if the eagles beat the saints they are winning the superbowl. they would have beaten everyone at that point.
Yup, they are playing real well on both sides of the ball. Shut down Aaron Donald and JJ Watt and clowney.

Exactly. The Eagles went into Chicago and beat the Bears. If they beat the Saints in N.O. they will be rolling. Very hard to beat a team 3 times in a year and they are the defending champions. They know how to win. We are just learning.
They will have beaten the Rams Texans and bears. Not an ideal situation facing champs on that kind of roll. Don't care where it is

That's the most quoted, completely misleading bogus stat that the pundits like to bring up. It's not hard at all for a team to beat another for the 3rd time. I forget the percentage, but it's like 70% or 80% likely that a team that won the first 2 meetings will win the 3rd.

It's only "hard" when you are looking at the likelihood before they've played their first game of the year - it's much more likely that you won't sweep all 3. But they only mention that statistic after a team has won 2 and they are meeting again, so it's not really accurate at all.
Here's an article from 2016 that supports what you are saying (70% of the time it's a sweep): https://www.betlabssports.com/blog/is-it-hard-to-beat-an-nfl-team-3-times/

"Since 1990, there have been sixteen times when a team was swept in the regular season and then met that opponent a third time in the playoffs. The team that swept the regular season went 11-5 (8-7-1 ATS) in the postseason."

Dallas is 1-2 in this scenario with a win over the Eagles (2009) and losses to the Giants (2007) and Cardinals (1998).

Note: Well, that one sports network had an article earlier this year prior to NO vs Carolina and indicated teams were 13-7 (since 1970 though) . . . make that 14-7 (67%) since the Saints won.

People will root for the Eagles believing it is a necessity. If the Eagles win, it will make them feel good. If the Eagles lose, it will make them feel sad. Both reactions are ridiculous since rooting will neither make the Eagles win nor lose.

Now here's where the "I Must Root" nonsense gets crazy.

The same people keep repeating the the same pattern expecting 'favorable' results every time. That's

I will never root for the Eagles. Something about the way they cheered when Michael Irvin was injured at the vet. Never forget!!! If we get a championship game in Dallas, that's cool, but no way any of us should be rooting for Philthy.
By that logic do you hate the Cowboys fans that were making jokes about Dez after his Achilles injury?

And if they do, then they come to Dallas (in this hypothetical situation) and what if they win here? We watch the Eagles celebrate an NFC Championship on our field???? No thx! If the Cowboys win Saturday I want the Saints.

What if we do win vs the Rams and Eagles win? Then they beat us in the NFCC game? Then what? I don't care who wins if we beat the Rams. The Eagles will probably not lose a 3rd time against us.

We would be favored. Philly doesn’t respect us, our players know it. We’ll be motivated to kick their arse a 3rd time!
