So much crying over celebrations during a freaking football game. Bunch of whiny old men. This game is about fun, toughness and if these dudes wanna pump themselves so be it as long as they’re ready for the next play. o_O

It's important to establish your own nickname or Rod will give you one--and you don't want that.

I would have loved that nickname.

I wish I could say I agree, but it's pure showmanship. In LVE's case, he may be just not used to the adoration of so many fans, and it's going to his head, or he may be doing FOR the fans, to get them into the game, I don't know.
But it's very clear that a lot of players simply can't get enough attention.
No prob.

It means nothing.

Attention?

Sure.

He wants to win.

You must be against the endzone celebrations, too?

If so..

you are missing what makes the sport fun.

The displays are like war hoops.

You are telling the other team you are better

The Indians of the old West fought like this.

Often when they fought..

they did not kill each other.

They fought and wrestled until one side or the other withdrew.

The displaying has a purpose.
Funny you mention this, the reason the Native got slaughtered early on in colonial America, they fought by counting coup not so much death. When tribes fought it was besting the other in battle like knocking them off a horse or knocking them to the ground, think aggressive tag. The white man did not fight like that and the Native American learned that knocking a white man off his horse got you shot in the back.

The plays are what make the sport fun for me. The actual sport, not the trash talking, self indulgent play acting, or rehearsed team celebrations.

When a player makes a play that's so great, he or his teammates have a spontaneous release of excitement, that's fun to watch. But I'd just roll my eyes and walk away if I were there when a group of players was planning out what childish act they were going to carry out, if one of them manages to get a sack, TD, interception, or whatever.

Counting coup..that's the term I was looking for.

That is what I was trying to introduce into the discussion.

Thank you very much.

I wish he would do less celebrating. I don't know when this "look at me" BS started after every freaking play. Its not just him. Its everybody but maybe Amari Cooper ......who acts like he's done this before.

Totally agree. Could you image offensive lineman doing a dance after every play? The act like high school kids at times.

I played high school football back in the 80's, and there was none of this showboating allowed. It was considered poor sportsmanship and disrespectful to show up an opponent. If you scored a TD, you slapped some high fives and celebrated with your teammates. But not after a tackle..........

I'm waiting for a coach to start doing a dance after successfully challenging a call on the field. ......just to show the players how silly some of them look..

Or maybe because they were shooting arrows and we were shooting bullets?

Did you see a huge celebration after Zeke's TD last Saturday night?
NO.
Because there wasn't one. He scored, he turned around and his teammates came over and basically said, good run.
I don't even think he did the feed me gesture.
Players and teams can take that team celebration crap and cram it. It’s beyond asinine.

Young kid, he is enjoying himself out there , his celebrating started as his confidence went up. Certain players, like Zeke play with passion and some exhibition

Exactly why I haven't full jumped on his banned wagon yet. Hate cocky players. F* Jermey shockey, Desan Jackson, Odel Beckham. Sean Lee Is way more humble & smarter than this rookie. Just another do uche.
