Browns
Dolphins
Jets
Bengals
Tampa Bay
Cardinals**
Green Bay**

Last two are questionable but the Cowboys have had more success over the last several seasons than the first four listed here. Y'all can make fun of Jerry all you want, but he would absolutely have been a consideration for those teams. And that isn't considering college.

Now, the difference here is that if he lost his job right now, those have mostly been filled. But there is zero doubt he'd find a job next year.

Here is the real issue with the whole thing...most teams looking were bottom feeders who are known to recycle....so maybe a couple of teams are interested but not 5. McCarthy won a SB and got zero jobs. So it's just speculation on..."these teams are so horrible, they'd look at him."

McCarthy also declined opportunities elsewhere because he was all in on that Jets job that they gave to that freak Adam Gase.

Although I want Garrett out of here, I won't deny that he would be attractive to other teams because he has led his teams to 13-3 and 12-4 records, made the playoffs three years, won the division three years and won two playoff games. For these struggling teams that would be an improvement.

There also is the change-in-scenery effect. Although history shows that Garrett isn't likely to ever win a Super Bowl here, several other Super Bowl-winning coaches did not win in their first stop. Getting to the big game is a combination of multiple factors and sometimes a coach ends up in a situation to fits his coaching style.

IMO, Dallas does not fit Garrett's coaching style because he has to outplayer other teams. His offensive scheme is simple so it comes down to execution, which means you have to have better players because you are not fooling anyone.

During his first few years as head coach, Garrett worked on his "process" by working on the roster, especially retooling the offensive line. However, while he was doing that, the Joneses decided to stop paying the going rate for star players so we're not supplementing those draft additions. That will always leave us short of the players needed to make Garrett's philosophy work.

Remember, this is the guy that just claimed Jason is going to be extended as soon as the season is over based on Garrett’s performance, so what else is Ian going to sell?

Ian is probably getting paid by Jerry also..

But then again, the Jets just hides big-eyed Adam Gase. What was that eye-thing about? Cocaine?

Garrett would be great for one of these bottom feeder teams that need structure and a strong foundation.

Once he has built that though then you have to be smart enough to let him go.

Not even true. That structure was imposed by Jerry from on top. The offense was a clusterF when Garrett had full control of it, totally unprepared and out of its element. Garrett didn’t even have his QB in game-planning meetings.

He’s a joke plain and simple that Jerry has to provide a huge support structure.

McCarthy has had far and away more success than Garrett as a head coach

No question but wasn't the issue. The issue was the poster saying implying McCarty would have more success getting coaching offers that Garrett. One surface that may seem true but after he was fired a few in NFL circles pointed out how his WCO offense was simplest of any out there. Defensive coor mention how easy it was to defend. Also, the Browns FO have at least 3 former Packer administrator yet they wanted nothing to do with him. BTW......even the job he wanted real bad (Jets ) decided to go another direction.

TBH I wouldn't be shocked if a few of those teams showed interest. They're also the ones that are perennial cellar dwellers for a reason.
