All the time, crappy teams hire crappy coaches and keep them around to tease their fans with "close but not quite".

I know this is true because i'm a Dallas fan.

Last two are questionable but the Cowboys have had more success over the last several seasons than the first four listed here. Y'all can make fun of Jerry all you want, but he would absolutely have been a consideration for those teams. And that isn't considering college.

Now, the difference here is that if he lost his job right now, those have mostly been filled. But there is zero doubt he'd find a job next year.

Yup. Fans that don;t pay attention to the market and who gets hired are missing the forest for the trees.

In a weird NFL coach re-draft JG would land in the top 10 though likely near the bottom of it.
There aren't 32 real starting QBs and there aren't 32 real NFL head coaches.

Would JG have gotten 5 offers? No. Because he would have gotten and taken one of a couple offers right away as a prime candidate.
Dolphins and/or Jets seem very likely given his history.

Oh no question, not perfect. But the record/results speak for themselves. He's not Belichick, but he looks pretty good when compared to Garrett.

I would like to see a poll asking the fan bases of these teams if they want JG as their next HC.............Im sure he would still get interviews but Im not so sure those fans would be as excited.

Really? Considering he's had one of the best QB's of all-time in his prime, McCarthy really hasn't accomplished that much. A SB early on yes, but a whole heck of a lot of underachievement after.
