If he was running interference for Scott to get to the Senior Bowl and find a soft landing, the heat from the press will only help him in the eyes of his players and his staff, though.

I think Garrett has input I also think few HC have full say. I think Belicheck does have a lot of say more than any HC in the NFL most have input but in the end it is others who make the final call.

I'm sure he has a ton of input on coaching staff.
But his input on draft would be very limited. Probably his impression of overall need comes into play. But not actual player selection at all, unless there's a non football red flag.
