That guy? Nice guy but jeez his tenure lacked impact of any kind. As a player and a coach.

A total ghost.

How many QB coaches on any team can you point to that had a dramatic impact over their careers, much less one season. I frankly can't say what Moore did right or wrong or average, and I haven't found anyone else that knows either. It seems to me just an assumption that he didn't do a good job, but I don't know of any foundation for it.

Funny, I was listening to Sirius radio before and two talking head were saying that the Cowboys love Moore because he is very bright. They think he has a great future as a coach. The same two guys were speculating that the Cowboys may make Moore the new OC to replace Linehan. They insinuated Moore has Head Coach potential and making him OC wouldget his path to that position started.
Hopefully they were talking about Tom Moore...Tom Brady's qb guru...

He is an idiot, because...?

Exactly the right question. I've asked people with that attitude several times what they can point to with Moore (or any QB coach) as what he did wrong. What is the criteria, and how do fans have any clue if a QB coach is doing well, or poorly or average? I can understand people who talk about his lack of coaching experience, because that is a fact based argument, but calling him names and talking about how terrible he is doesn't seem to have any foundation. It seems more just what a person chooses to believe than what they have any evidence of.

I’d love to know what “impact” you expected out of the qb coach.

You are right. They do nothing. Just there to collect a paycheck. Never mind that the young QB struggles with accuracy and pocket presence. He will figure that out. Good catch.

Please, explain to me what you think the coaching techniques are for an inaccurate qb. Would love to hear this. Don’t blame Dak’s deficiencies on the coach. No one is changing Dak, he is what he is. There’s 2 options: 1 is find a new QB. 2 is design the best possible scheme around him and hope for the best.

As I said recently on another thread, people go on about Daks dramatic improvement as the season progressed yet they are unwilling to give his QB coach any credit for this?

According to some on the radio today, the Cowboys are of the opinion that Moore is an offensive "genius" that just didn't have the physical skills to get it done as a player, and was not involved in scheming the offense this year. They intend to have him play a bigger role in game planning next year if he stays.

By the Cowboys you mean the Jones boys?

What’s amazing is people use him as an excuse for the mediocre QB play... Moore has no influence on the manner at the pace at which Dak processes a football field.

This notion Moore doesn’t know what he’s doing is built on the idea Mark Sanchez allowed Dak to achieve greatness in his rookie year, when Sanchez was just benched with the Commanders for a guy that didn’t take an NFL snap on seven years.

Over-exaggerated..

Dak finally hit a couple of plays down the sideline defenses were giving him all year long to make. He stunk against the Colts and mediocre Buccaneers, two of the TDS in the latter were basically gifts by the defense.

One of the many jobs a good leader has is recognizing talent.

You have to keep and promote people who are going to be future leaders.
