Anyone denouncing Moore’s capabilities as an OC is just spewing crap at this point.

He’s never done it, so you literally have no clue.

Of course, he could suck, but he could be the second coming of Bill Walsh.

I know, lets have a raffle and pick some random dude out of the stands to be the OC. Hey, he has never done it, so dont be spewing crap because you just dont know:angry:

That dude sitting in section 125, row 8, seat 3...………….could be the next McVeigh, so shut it about this idea being stupid.

Really?

What does he prefer to do on third and long?

What’s his favorite base formation?

What’s his pass/run ratio?

You LITERALLY know nothing about him.

No Chief, you literally know nothing. NOTHING.

That's why there is this thing called experience...……………but nah, we dont worry about that around here. We hired a head coach a decade ago that had zero experience and look at how that turned out.

That’s the point, Chief.

He’s an unknown. This is a franchise entering its 9th year under this head coach and has little in term of high level results. They just finished a season where the offense wasn’t good enough to where they fire their OC. So clearly they want the offense to be better. They have a young QB that was up and down last year and needs a new direction in terms of an offense.

And their solution? Hire a guy who has NEVER been an OC in his life at any level and has only ONE YEAR of Coaching experience.

That’s a monumentally risky move that they don’t have to take, if they indeed hire him. Why take that risk? Why not bring in a guy with a real track record and experience in coaching a high level offense?

That’s the point. Chief.

The homers will avoid this post like its the plague bro:laugh:

This Cowboys' FO operates in a manner that puzzles those with better sense. If that's their way of settling their ongoing issues with an offense that has proven to be less than adequate, it's not unexpected. The Dallas FO will do whatever their non-football minds tell them to. Kellen Moore will either make the grade or he won't, if he's their choice. We'll see what develops, despite the limited thinking behind it. It just seems lame to hire someone with such scant experience as our OC, but in any case, good luck with that . . . sigh.

I think people are more upset with the “process” used to promote Moore and the perceived lack of interest in making real meaningful change from the front office.

But hey, it’s a message forum. If everyone sat back and said “let’s wait and see how this goes” it wouldn’t be very exciting, would it?

And that’s “fair” too....

Wow after reading 16 pages of posts dont know really what to say lol. I do agree with the posters that want to go with a more experienced OC. I didnt care for Kellen as a QB coach and thought he needed more experience but to promote him to OC after 1 season IMO is just crazy.
Jason taking over play calling doesnt warm me either he has done it in the past and he couldnt seem to manage that and his HC responsibilities Maybe with age and year on the job he will improve. I like the Kitna move though an upgrade over KM
If all of this is true it could be that maybe Jerry is going to go after Sean Peyton next year. If he promotes within no big money is out and he goes all in after the next year. Sean will bring his own team of coaches. Of course all of this will mean us fans will have to endure another season like the last season and our players will just get another year older.
Not saying any of this will happen just trying to make sense of the rumors that we are hearing. I hope that its not true and we bring in a true OC an KM will learn under him.

I think the important thing is that we continue to double down on former Detroit Lions. Its gotta work eventually right??

You know what?

I don’t care. Seriously. Jerry and company couldn’t care less. Why should I?

Awesome, Kellen Moore gets to learn on the job like Garrett has! Great thinking Jerry because it has worked out so well for Garrett. The Dallas Cowboys have become an originizarion where coaches, who have zero experience, get to learn on the job. Moore can waste a few years learning on the job making mistakes, perfect! And we wonder why the Cowboys haven’t done squat for 23 years and counting. Nothing is going to change with Jerry Jones, nothing.

What happens if we don't end up hiring Moore as the OC? There has been no formal announcement and we already have hired a new QB coach.

Do we just scrap Moore if we bring in a new OC?

facts *****ing doesnt change anything, if you are fan how about letting the team get things in place actually play some games before spending countless hours griping online as if you know more then then them..seriously im not total homer I feel we should have GM and new HC and go another direction but if this is what we have , what can we do about it..for these fans like you that do nothing but gripe and feel its helping , its not..you are supposed to be fan right? right now you are opposite of that, I support the Star on the helmet its my team and since we have no control who owns or coaches it at some point you just need to cheer the players and hope for success its why I watch..that doesnt make me home it make me less of pessimist and have urge to just condemn every move and live in the negative past..

I have a hard time buying this story of Kellen Moore becoming an OC....I SMELL A RAT. With vastly better options out there, especially now that the chiefs and Saints lost, I think we will at least continue our due diligence.

Well shoot, let's shut the board down until May. Because apparently until everything is in place, we shouldn't have sports/Cowboys discussions.

So let's shut the board down, let them hire their staff, hit FA and then have the draft and then, and only then, we can then talk about the team.

LOL.

Yet another built in excuse for the Jones for next year to qualify why yet again the Boys fall short. It was Moore's first year on the job. It will get better as he gets more experience, you'll see

As was suggested by another poster, I'm hoping if it is indeed Moore as OC, this is just a way to make it easier to move on from the whole bunch of sorry coaches when they inevitably fail next year (it will be an odd year, so it will be a year we fail to make the playoffs if recent history under Garrett is any indication). Then hire a new HC and actually let him pick his staff.
