I'm a huge Rammstein fan and have been for many years. They are a very hardcore band! I love em and it would be awesome to see them as the half time show, they are excellent live. That being said, I don't think they would ever be invited. #1 it is not in English and so that could be problematic lol, and #2 they have been known to get very naughty in their concerts, which would be VERY problematic. LOL! Plus, they are just not well known here in the States. Sadly.

Check out these songs by Rammstein, just a few of my favorites by them: Herzeleid; Du Riescht So Gut; Rosenrot; Rammstein; Mann Gegen Mann; Mein Teil; Mein Land, good song, cool video; Yo Quiero P*** (German band singing in Spanish lol, that always made me laugh)
They aren’t putting a band on the halftime show that most people in the US have never heard of.

The got a popular band to play the halftime show to draw in viewers. They always do. And every year, people on this forum complain about it. I don’t get it.

I’d like to see Radiohead perform, but it’s not gonna happen. Maroon 5 has some good songs so I’ll watch it.

Atlanta is the hip hop capitol of the world. Just be glad they chose an artist that actually plays instruments.

I wanted to see Donald Glover perform. Rapper from Atlanta, and won best director and best actor at the Emmy’s for his show Atlanta, which is literally about Atlanta. He’s popular and makes good music. The ladies love him.

IT WAS SO OBVIOUS NFL!!!!

Well, I'm not all that into pop music to be honest, and I find it quite repetitive. Maiden, Metallica, and other such bands like that are actually very well known and would be good options. I also think that Rammstein would do a spectacular job during the SB in a circumstance in which they are invited to perform the show. I think that fans would run to the hills in joy if Maiden got to play the halftime show. I know I would.

There is absolutely fantastic pop music out there but I won’t even get into that.

The halftime show is there to get people who aren’t watching football to watch it. Primarily middle aged women, young girls, and children.

Metallica, Iron Maiden and Rammstein would not draw in that target crowd. The people who would want to watch them are already watching.

Maroon 5 is currently pushing out mega hit after mega hit. Adam Levine is one of the judges on the popular The Voice show. People think their songs are catchy, fun, and nice to listen to and dance to. Their look is marketable.

The NFL already got classic rockers to preform - Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Rolling Stones, The Who. They killed that because they weren’t drawing in viewers. The most viewed halftime shows ever are Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Coldplay. Pop stars who push out the mega hits.

It’s obvious why they choose who they choose.

And I am the biggest ******* of a music snob you’ll find, but I’ll say this - anyone who says they didn’t like Bruno Mars’ halftime show is lying.

I suppose so, and I suppose that it helps that I'm someone that is a pretty big fan of those 3 bands (along with a LOT of other bands). One of my points with Rammstein, however, is that it could help bring the international markets like Germany further into play. However, the solution there, I suppose, is to play a game or two in Munich during Oktoberfest and have a band like Rammstein (who are HUGE in Europe) play the halftime show there. That'd work.

As for the modern stuff, okay, Bruno Mars was okayish to me, even though I am a rock/metal snob. Katy Perry I honestly didn't like. I don't like Lady Gaga at all. Coldplay was okay, but, being a Cherries supporter and with them being Southampton supporters, I don't reaaaally like them haha (though, Clocks is quite good). I've thought for a while and still think that Imagine Dragons are downright dreadful. I will say that there are a few modern bands that I like (besides Blink which is kinda modern as in not classic rock but I like them). For example, I wouldn't complain if 30 Seconds to Mars was doing the halftime show. I do think they're actually quite good. I like the Killers. I LOVE Avenged Sevenfold. They're a GREAT band. Now, THAT might be a metal band that I think we can all agree to. Disturbed I like. Same with System of a Down, Sum 41, Three Days Grace (coincidentally, they and Disturbed are being shown as adverts below for me haha), and Dragonforce.

In fact, Dragonforce would be another modern pick for me for the halftime show. Here's one of their songs:

They're a great British power metal band. They are incredible with their guitar skills. :yourock::yourock::bow::bow:

To be perfectly honest, one of my biggest regrets is not having learned the guitar. That's something I'd love to learn to play. I love a good guitar solo.

Glover is too controversial for the NFL. No way in the hell they let him play “This is America” during the halftime show. He’s a great actor though.

Plus many hip hop stars are boycotting performing for the NFL. Travis Scott is catching a lot of heat for performing even though he got the NFL to donate $500K to a charity.
