A healthy line, an all-pro Center returning, a healthy Tyron; Cooper used to the system, Gallup with an offseason under him, Zeke eating with two spoons, and Dak progressing going into his 4th season.

Combined with Jarwin and Schultz improving at TE, and that's disregarding a likely returning Swaim who is healthy.

Our offense? It just got a HUGE add with a returning Frederick, a healthy Tyron, and a healthy rest of the line. Plus, we have Looney for another year, playing back-up at C, RG, and LG.

Spots for improvement? WR3 (losing Beezy), back-up swing tackle, and RB2

WR3 we have options (Cobb, Tate, or the guys I'd target, who are cheaper and younger - Adam Humpries, Robby Anderson, Tyrell Williams), or N'Keal Harry in the second is my preferred route.

RB2 - I'd bring in Adrian Peterson for a year, while sliding R. Smith over to FB/RB3. Bring in a later rounder and a few UDFAs and hopefully someone emerges worth keeping.

I don't count on anything with this team anymore.

We looked liked we were going to be a powerhouse after 2014 and we lost our quarterback.

We looked like we were going to be a powerhouse after 2016 and our running back got suspended for six games.

That's why each opportunity is too precious not to give yourself the best chance at that moment. We'll see what this year holds.

When is Tyron gonna get healthy and for how long? It seems like he's always got something. From Training Camp to week 17, he's got a neck, elbow, back, leg, etc etc. Has the guy become a china doll? He's still good at what he does. Just seems like he's fragile. Maybe something more than children's aspirin would help out.

I like your optimism.

I would vote against being Adrian Peterson in. I would prefer a cheaper, younger running back to back up Zeke.

Also, I do think getting a 3rd down “scat back” type running back in would really help the offense. Somebody like Lance Dunbar but who can actually play more than 3 games before getting injured for the rest of the season.

I think the addition of a 3rd down scat back and infusing some more talent at tight end, could really help take the offenses production, up a notch.

I think our RB roster should be like this.

1. Zeke
2. Rod smith or another back-up, work horse type running back.
3. A scat back up type who can ALSO be your punt return man and play special teams.

Also, I think it’s worth mentioning that Connor Williams will have a year of experience and much needed strength added. It’s common for 2nd year OL to make a big jump in their play level after an off season of NFL strength training.

Every year you guys come up with this crap in the off season
And then the season rolls around and reality hits you in the face

Some of you guys should just find another team. Preseason predictions by some had us at third or fourth in the East. We end up winning it and winning our first playoff game, and it's still not good enough. Wow!

Great post OP.

I’d certainly hope so.

22nd ranked offense was our nemesis in 2018 and that was with the insurgence Cooper brought uplifting our bottom tier QB to 15th ranked.

31st In Redzone and only averaging 21.2 points a game isn’t championship football.

Our 7th ranked defense can’t be expected to carry this offense and QB much further .

The only question mark for me is Tyron. He seems to be banged up every year for one reason or another. But he still was good enough to make the Pro Bowl.

We need to beef up TE and after most likely losing Beasley the slot WR will be a need.

Don’t forget our aging and nimble great OL struggling to stay on the field as backup OL should still be a concern if Smith and Martin still nursing injuries and concerns with Frederick. And that’s assuming Collins is still the answer and Conner develops.

I wouldn’t be all that comfortable at backup RB either. Nor backup QB. And I’d be looking to bring in some kickers too. I wouldn’t think Mahrer job is a lock.

At midseason at 3-5 we definitely looked like the 8 or 9 wins many of us projected was optimistic as well.

But no one predicted we’d trade for Cooper uplifting the offense from the concerns many of us had going in which basically salvaged the horrid offense .

An offense ending at 22nd ranked and near the bottom in Redzone. 21.2 points a game is not what I’d call championship football.

not only that, the Cowboys were the only team to take Cooper away from our offense.

the big problem this team needs to fix. get all cylinders firing at the same time, and stop using whatever works. For whatever reason if a play works we never see it again.

I'm not assuming that Fredrick and Smith will be healthy next year, especially Smith. Tyron's back and neck/shoulder/back injuries almost feel chronic. The past 2-3 seasons they've had to ease him through the season nursing his ailments.

Aside from the injury concerns, I'll wait until I see who the OC will be before proclaiming that the offense will likely take a big jump in 2019. If reports of Garrett re-taking play calling duties are true, it appears that we'll be in for more of the same stale play calling that we've seen the past two years. No creativity and an inability to adjust on the fly from week to week.

It's not all about the talent in the NFL. Coaching and play design matter.

A healthy O-Line and Dak improves this year. Hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. Work on the accuracy and chemistry.

With good health and 20 pounds on Connor I think the OL will be VERY good next year
