The Saints tight end is not happy that the miserable punk Goodell has stayed silent about the no-call that cost them the SB. I don't know what might be going on behind closed doors, but I think the whole team should do a twitter trash dump on the NFL after that cheat.

I have a very low opinion of the commissioner, but in this case what is he going to say? One of two things happened. Either the refs missed it at full speed, which i'll admit is a stretch that I only entertained because I missed it at full speed. Or the refs ignored it because they didn't want to decide the game. What could Roger possibly say on this matter that everyone doesn't already know? I'd rather him be silent like with every other non call than to come out with a scripted lie.

Yet the NFL is the most popular and monetarily productive in it’s history.

I see this as more of a product of how the world has evolved over the last few decades than Goodell's brilliant leadership.

Facebook. Twitter. YouTube. Accessible streaming replacements for cable. eCommerce.

How could you not sell more ads, jerseys, and hype than the past?!

Whatever it is the players and owners are happy. Well except for that joker up in Pittsburgh.

In charge? Don't fall for that. The owners are in charge. He's their errand boy/fall guy.

How about something like "The officials missed that call. It was unfortunate, as are any other mistakes in judgement. However, it is a sport played, coached and officiated by imperfect human beings and mistakes or differences in judgement are to be expected. That said, we are looking at ways to minimize these mistakes in the future to the extent that is reasonably possible."

Frankly, I believe the Commish isn't speaking on advice from the NFL lawyers. There are only 2 things the NFL fears - loss of revenue and litigation. To the later, many of the "player safety" rules aren't spurred by a sincere desire to improve player safety, but to have a defensible position in litigation.

Goodell's presser is currently on the NFL network, coulda swore he just said he said he has already talked to the Saints players/Payton and they were "frustrated".
