All who watch this Super Bowl will destroy what football should be

It is predetermined, not predictable. There's a difference. The NFL has already determined who will win. It doesn't mean I know who it is.

I understand what you are saying, but that PI that should have been called on the Rams was not the Saints' last chance to win. The officials didn't make Drew Brees throw a pick in overtime and they didn't help Greg Zuerlein's 57 yard field goal go in.

Listen, I am as fed up as anybody over this crap officiating, but I don't think football is rigged. Do some officials give some teams the benefit of the doubt more than they should? Maybe, but missed calls alone are rarely enough to change the outcome of a game.

As mad as I still am over Dez's "non catch" a few years ago, I keep reminding myself there were still three minutes left in the game. Plenty of time for the Packers to kick a winning field goal even if the Cowboys scored a TD then.

First you forget the helmet to helmet hit Smith did and wasn't called. The point is refs have missed calls, even blatant calls since the NFL started. Next give me all your proof that anyone is acting maliciously during the playoffs and that anyone was given instructions to prohibit one team from winning. I'll bet you believe there was a 2nd gunman in the grassy knoll too. You've said nothing that will prevent me and millions of others from watching the Super Bowl.
.

The referee who resides near the LA area, with total attention focused on the receiver getting blasted, did not throw the flag. It is not controversial, because "controversial" that implies it is mildly reasonable NOT to throw a flag. It was clearly a penalty, without excuse, completely undisputed by any football fan, that the flag should have been thrown. 99% chance the Saints win if that penalty is called, when the Rams have no timeouts.

The eyeball test, for those paying attention, clearly shows the game outcome was changed. End of discussion. If you endorse fixed games, then make your choice about what to watch, it's a free country.

I wasn't planning on watching it, but I have to admit being curious about how McVay's football memory and ability to spot tendencies will compare to the Patriots skill at finding new and innovative ways to cheat. just kidding. How it compares to the Patriots just being the Patriots.

I think it's just going to come down to which team wants it more.

Still probably not going to watch it since correcting officiating issues doesn't seem to be important for the League.

I do not want to argue with you because I can't agree more with your statement about the call. It was a blatant miss by the official and there was almost no way the Saints lose if PI or helmet to helmet is called.

However, I disagree that the game was fixed. That non-call on Robey Coleman would have been an afterthought if Drew Brees led a TD drive in overtime; or if the Saints held on for a 23-20 win in regulation.

The officials may have had an LA-area bias, and the NFL may have even allowed them to call the game knowing this. But even though I myself posted on here that night the game was rigged, I have since backed off on my stance.

So, I'm wondering how the NFL knew they would have that chance to screw the Saints at that point in the game? How did they know the Saints wouldn't have a wide open player in the end zone and that opportunity to ignore a pass interference would even occur?

First, run of the mill pass interference is a judgement call, to a point. However, EVERY referee who has ever called pass interference, has called it for infractions far less obvious than this one.

The hit by Robey Coleman was easily 10 times more atrocious than a typical pass interference call.

It's so egregious, Goodell was obligated to redo the game from the 1:49 mark. But he ignored his obligation, and has therefore, branded the entire NFL as an illegitimate sporting organization.

Replaying the last 1:49 would have created a ton of controversy. Because even though I agree the Saints got hosed, it would be just as unfair to punish the Rams and their fan base for the NFL's idiotic mistake.

My only hope was this would lead to sweeping changes to officiating, but listening to Goodell, it won't. My solution is simple. Hire an extra official who sits in a booth watching instant replays like we do on TV. The moment a call is missed or is wrong, he can buzz down to the field to stop play and fix it ASAP.

This is nonsense. First, when has any commissioner ever replayed a portion of a game? Second, the way the rule is worded, this wouldn't apply anyway unless somehow someone could prove that the game was fixed. And 3rd, how can you replay a portion of the game based on a missed call, and not replay other portions of the game based on other missed or bad calls? There are missed holdings and face masks and other things every game, and there were in that game too. Other missed calls could influence games just like this one. It's a can of worms you can't open up because you can't keep a season, or the playoffs, moving along on schedule if you are replaying portions of every game from the point of every missed call.

I know the title is provocative, but I'm not leading with that to annoy others, just for the fun of it.

I'm serious when I say that Goodell needs to hear the message loud and clear, the debacle that the NFL has become will not be tolerated. Officials who watch NFL receivers get blasted, helmet to helmet, before the ball arrives, and then do nothing about it, have revealed a great deal.

They've revealed they are acting maliciously toward a team in the playoffs.
They have been given instructions to prohibit one team from winning.
Incompetence will no longer cloak these truths.

Knowing that, (there is no dispute or controversy) will you actually promote the destruction of the NFL by watching?

I know that Super Bowl parties are a tradition, and they are a great opportunity for socializing, but the time to act is now. Football will be unwatchable if the public ignores the game fixing that went on. I've been invited to a Super Bowl party already, but I've turned it down. I know its not an easy thing to do.

Will you seriously consider making other plans? Fishing, a get together with friends, doing anything else?

The NFL must get this message. WHAT FOOTBALL HAS BECOME IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

I haven't watched the last 3 or 4, so skipping this one too will be quite easy.

I did tune in to the halftime show a couple years ago to watch Lady Gaga, but switched the channel afterwards.

I’m just going to turn on the audio broadcast and turn off the vid so I can hear Romo call the plays. Does that count?

If the snowplow game didn't get replayed, no way this one should either.

So the NFL predetermined the outcome of games, passes the info down through a chain of command, then tells the refs to make it happen. According to many it’s been going on for years. Yet not one time EVER has some whistle blower decided to buck the system and expose what was happening. Not once. Ever.
