How did we lose to the Rams?

We do?

Let's see, Shelton/Brown are a much better DT combo. I mean, they don't let anything go up the middle.
Hightower is better than LVE, at least right now.
Gilmore is better than Byron. Far as that goes, their #2 Cb is also.
Trey Flowers is very close to as good as DLaw.
Kyle van Noy is better than any or of our LB's.

Seriously, did you look before you proclaimed this? Their S's are better than ours by a large margin. Not sure this is even close.

This is the truth. Cowboy nation vastly overrates our players. Our DTs are average, our pass rush Isa average because it disappears for long stretches, our players make dumb mistakes and rarely make plays.

I watched very little of the game, but when Gilmore knocked that ball out when Anderson was running for the first down, I said that's one of the key differences between a championship D and ours. Numbers like ours don't matter, it's making plays when you need them.

And watching those 2 big dudes in the middle makes it blatantly clear what we need on the DL, but we will not do it.

They AFL season is about to begin at least.

If so many of you want to blame coaching, and not the players, and use the score as your defense than why did our offense score more than twice as many points as the Pats offense?

By the logic most of you are using, based on the Pats offensive coaching staff of McDaniels and BB vs JG and Linehan, we had a much better game plan and coaching then they did when we played the Rams. Now Linehan is gone and some of you still want McDaniels...interesting.

Makes perfect sense.

Yeah, Dallas had two weeks to prepare for the Rams and at 13-3 the Rams suck.

Nope he will design a perfect scheme for the QB he has. He will play to Dak's strengths.

Remember when they got Randy Moss and the Pats turned into one of the best offenses ever and Brady had 50TDs and they went 16-0? That was Belichik adjusting the gameplan to fit the pieces he had. Garrett would have ran the same boring offense and had Moss running 10 yard curls the whole game.

You think if Mahomes was here under Garrett he'd be anything near what he is under Reid?

Of course they did, he still did it with Brady. Who wouldn't want Brady with a still productive Moss. Did Cooper run the same 10 yard curls? I swear you people sometimes are comical....lol

We couldn’t make stop the run.

I still don’t get it. We are a big matchup problem for them and they just ran it all over us.

270 yards when we allowed 94 on average.

A little pre-snap movement and we just never adjusted.
Romo was talking during the SB how the Pats rushed straight up the field instead of slanting one direction. I remember Dallas slanted almost every snap and never adjusted.

A good coach would have game planned for them. You see what Belececk did to them. Why doesn't it ever seem that we put our team in a position to win vs just forcing them to bang their heads against the other team?

We were tipping the DL calls on 95% of the snaps...............that'll get you beat every time.

Sad thing is Cowboys have better personal on defense and they got crushed on that side. What would Bellichik doe with the Cowboys personal on defense? This is why until the Cowboys get a legit coach they aren’t sniffing the super bowl. They keep lame duck Garrett for another wasted year coming up.
Hide this post from @Dre11, he may go off the deep end.

We gave up nearly 300 yards rushing. Billichick had 2 post season games but especially our game to say that he was not going to pull a Kris Richard

The Cowboys defense has much more talent than the Patriots defense so it's 100% coaching.
Imagine Belichick with Jaylon, LVE, Byron, D Law, and Gregory.
Wrong. The Patriots have the best secondary in the NFL. They have good linebackers and a good defensive line. Our defensive tackles are a weakness. The Colts and Rams exposed them. I can make an argument that the Cowboys only have 3 elite players on defense and the rest are JAGS. LVE, Jaylon and D-Law. We need two space eating tackles to protect our big 3.

Well, if Bill was smart he watched our game and learned from it. He is smart, so that happened.

Rams switched up some tendencies for our game, when the later half of the season they had some trouble against things we did, they planned for us approaching it the same way. They went into the game showing classic cover 3, single high, and man beating personnel groups. And from the get go, the entire plan was to beat up on our DT's and take advantage of DE's in our nickel packages when they figured out we were probably going to do what had been decently successful against them previously.

The book on Goff was he was bad under pressure, and beating the Rams OL straight up would be tough sledding (especially after the effort vs the Colts). The Rams OTs had a great year, and their interior OL was still good, but the C was the weakest link 2nd half of the season, and I guess we thought we had better odds of creating pressure against the interior guys C/RG/LG if we used some of the speed and length we had at DE to stunt/twist and create favorable matchups or even catch them off balance a few times. We'd been pretty good vs the run all year so I guess we thought we'd be okay there while still creating some pressure.

And we got killed. They knew the tendencies of the twists/stunts and were planning on disguising runs anyway, so they prepared for it. I'm not exactly sure how long we stuck with it, but it looks like we were smoked pretty early.

The Patriots played them more straight up while shooting upfield. Very gap disciplined. Give their secondary and Belichek credit because they absolutely smothered their routes/tendencies in the pass game. They continuously got pressure by sending pressure up the A and B gaps, leaving DEs to occupy the OTs and DTs to try and get upfield/draw double teams. I was continuously surprised by the punches that troubled Havenstein pretty frequently. It looks like the plan there was to punch and drive Havenstein consistently, while playing the cutback in the run game but often bringing a 5th guy up the A/B gap. They worked to create space in these gaps.

Belichek is also a defensive mastermind, so there's that. Arguably the best NFL mind of all time. That helps.

Nice analysis.

Dallas lost because we got beat at the line of scrimmage both sides of the ball. Dallas could not stop CJ Anderson or Gurley and the Rams were able with Donald and Suh to stuff the Cowboys up front.

I agree, but what I saw was great penetration into the back field and shutting run lanes down. Great job by the front 7 of the Pats. However I felt the Rams defense did a great job as well. Hell it was a 13-3 game it was not like either HC was dialing up the offense. At the start of the 4th qrt it was 3-3 yet some comments about here about the Pats makes it sound as if they rolled the Rams, they didn't. 3 key plays Goff throwing late to a wideopen WR in the endzone that gets knocked away, Goff throwing off his back foot throwing a poor ball that was picked and Brady pass to Gronk. To me those 3 plays were the biggest in the game. Outside of that both defense played great

Lots of comments about coaching and JG but only one mention of the immortal Richard. Last I checked, JG isn't the defensive guy and the Cowboys put up more points on NE than the Rams did last night. It was our "Hot Boyz" defense that got dominated by LA.

But Richard is the golden child, so it couldn't possibly be any failure on his part.

Adjustments!! We don't need no stinking "adjustments"....Clappers 1/2 time battle cry in the locker room.... what a mutton head. To be, or at least the claim on him is he's a "smart" guy, the boy is dumb as a dirt clod when it comes to having simple common sense.
