People are tired of the Pats and the Chiefs would've been SO much more entertaining. The Rams don't have a good following either. Plus it was just boring...

So you think seeing the Chiefs defense being torched in the entire game would be entertaining?

Saints blew the game themselves. The most overrated QB along with Rodgers failed to deliver them a win. Simple as that. Screw one of the most biggest bandwagon franchises there is. You couldn't find a Saints fan at all for almost their entire duration. Last decade, they pop up like cockroaches. Suing the league? Lmao. Like they didn't blow the game themselves. Refs missed a blatant facemask on Goff the drive before that would have set the Rams up to run more clock and take a 4pt lead but had to settle for 3. But lets forget about all that and just focus on one call!!!

People here have been reacting like no team has ever gotten a bad call before. My eyes are tired from rolling in the back of my head.

Its a direct response to NO getting screwed out of their SB appearance, and viewer fatigue with NE.

The Rams should have never gone to the SB

Wouldn't be surprise. Saw exactly the same thing in the 90/00 in Baseball.

According to local CBS affiliate WWL-TV, Super Bowl LIII drew a paltry 26.1 overnight Nielsen rating in the New Orleans market, a sharp decline from last year's overnight rating of 52.4.

The Times-Picayune reported the overnight rating for the New England Patriots' 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams was the lowest of any metered market, and the lowest overnight rating for a Super Bowl ever in New Orleans.

Those numbers were expected. The question is how much would a marginal market like New Orleans, which is a small fraction of either the New England or Southern California area markets, impact overall viewership numbers? The impact is likely far less than Saints fans might think. Of course they can take credit there is a verifiable connection of viewership among more major markets across the country not watching the game because of Saints fans disgruntled propaganda. I wonder if that has been measured or is measurable though.

The Super Bowl had lower ratings in LA than the national average ahahahaha, that team has no fans and no reason to exist.
The huge LA market likely played a large part of the significantly decreased viewership. Wonder if the NFL has a PR plan for Southern California to reverse that particular consequence in the future, lol?

I’m ready for Rolland Garros, French Open! Tennis for me is a big draw, like it or not. Then Wimbledon. And when the US Open begins, its time for the NFL to start once again.

NASCAR is okay, unless it’s Toyota always winning. Baseball sucks. March Madness is semi-fun, and the NBA playoffs is mediocre at best.

Oh yeah, fug hockey unless the Stars are decent and making a run.

The saints getting screwed on that game ending play probably didn't help. We'll always wonder if the saints would have won the super bowl.

Southern California is a major television market dominated by professional basketball and baseball viewership. The NFL ended up with a championship matchup that would not be supported heavily by one of the two teams. Not surprising but I just hope the New Orleans Saints market does not claim it played a large part in the low viewership numbers since it is minor compared to Los Angeles and the surrounding area.
You're too late, they believe there actions has everything to do with the low ratings.

Fair enough. Those calls were missed. Every game those calls are missed because of the angles and how many other players are around. That "one call" there were only two players there .. TWO.. It was a blatant obvious call that should've been called...

Don't like that one? Fine.

Cue to OT between the Saints and the Rams and the "INT" that ended the game. WR Thomas being completely manhandled by RAMS CB Johnson just before the INT.. Flag should've been thrown. No, the ball wasn't tipped. Another the refs whiffed on.

Rams got lucky, they know it. Their "fans" know it..Everyone knows it. Thankfully, they didn't win the SB.

If the Rams are having trouble in this market, imagine the Chargers?

It's a complete dumpster fire.

The new stadium will help for a couple of years but after that, who knows?

The league really should figure out a way to get the Chargers back to San Diego. I have no idea how though. I believe the Chargers signed like a 40 year lease to play in LA.

For the majority of fans? Absolutely. That KC-LA game was the regular season ratings winner.

People who want to watch, and I did not call them fans, want to watch high scoring games. That's how they are evaluated as great games.

When NE made it in, they were already predicting a ratings drop. Mahomes is the new "It" guy in the NFL and a new ratings record would have been set with him in it and people hoping the KC D would get torched to see him work some magic.

I would have watched and I am not a big high scoring fan but he is the most fun player to watch since Favre.
