If you had to make tough call and only keep 3 of 4, who walk, Coop, Dak, Zeke, DLaw?

The Hard cut would have to be Dak or Dlaw, I would give out the contract to Coop and Zeek.

Ya who needs Zeke.....like when he was suspended our offense was on fire baby as Dak went 15 str8 Quarters without 1 TD.....ya lets dump the Zeke man....

P.S. Imagine Dak's PA passes without Zeke? LOL....

Go out and give Foles the millions and let Dak ride the bench then we're talking Superbowl baby..!!!!
Dak showed up our last game of the season. Zeke was MIA....bring up your excuses.

Zeke because RB is easier to replace than the other positions. Man when I look back at taking Zeke with the 4th pick in the draft, what a complete waste! Dont get me wrong he is a great RB and he brought the Cowboys and Dak some winning seasons but he is getting beaten into the ground and he might not even get re signed.

I get the logic of QB, WR, and DE over RB, however I might take this RB over DLaw. Here’s why. I don’t think people really appreciate how special of a player Zeke is. Zeke should have 3 straight rushing titles if not for the fake suspension and he has not been running through the bus size holes that Murray had in 14. He earns every inch of his yardage. This scheme has done nothing to spread the Defense and create running lanes. He gets hit regularly in the backfield, yet turns 2 yard losses into 3 yard gains. He is special. He is a 2000 yard rusher waiting to happen if this offense can get its axt together. Also as great as Dlaw was last year and very good this year, his durability still scares me when it comes to long term deals.

Lawrence. The other 3 are big stage gamers,he’s not,so that makes him a fine addition to a good defense (much like Ware in Den) but not for our situation. Collins did more in post season that Lawrence. Rather dump that money into the interior like the league has shifted to. Got all these teams wrecking havoc up the middle with these big DTs,but not us. Nooooo....we’re stuck in (and I hate this word )....”finesse”. It’s worthless when it matters in post season. And I’m tired of watching wild card brides.

I tell ya, people just won't let this media driven crapp go, that RB's are a dime a dozen and it doesn't matter which one you have. It's one of the strangest things I've ever seen.

Oh, and BTW, NE disagrees w/ you. Michell was their 1st round pick, and he was instrumental in their super bowl run. And he appears to be a top 10 RB.

When NE lost Blount, they knew they had to replace him w/ a highly talented tough yards RB, so they went there in the first round.

What you said is true but NE probably isn't the best comparison to our situation

They have a once in a generation coach *and* QB.

We have neither of those luxuries

Zeke is a touch inconsistent, fumbles too much and doesn't score enough. He's the only one I'd consider allowing to leave.

Substitute the words "throw enough TD passes" for "score enough", and remove "a touch" completely, and you just perfectly described Dak

We should cut Dak and go find some guy who is playing baseball in the minor leagues and hasn't touched a football since 3rd grade. It will be like we were back in the Drew Henson days.

It is like Broaddus wants to start trouble via his Twitter followers.

In football (and especially at the professional level), team rosters are usually built with the relative importance of specific positions--Quarterback, Left Offensive Tackle and passer rusher (usually Defensive End)--occupying the top three. Those three are sometimes interchangeable, with Left Tackle sometimes being the foundation over Quarterback, etc.

Through the years, Dallas has employed an offensive scheme with an outstanding rusher as its center piece. Emmitt Smith is the perfect example of the 90's teams. Slightly less so was Tony Dorsett by comparison but there is no mistaking how valuable Dorsett was from his very first year as a Cowboy--as in Super Bowl caliber Running Back. Ezekiel Elliott fits the mold of Emmitt Smith in Garrett's scheme and demonstrated his outstanding worth during his rookie season.

The answer to Broaddus question in my opinion? I would say there are two answers.

Commonly league wide, the answer would be Running Back. However, the importance of a superb rusher in Dallas' offensive scheme elevates that position as a top three mandate. Left Tackle is never out of the top three for any reason. The remaining two positions are Quarterback and Defensive End.

Traditionally, consistent efensive pressure can be generated from Defensive Tackle or Outside Linebacker if either or both positions or can be filled with great candidates. There is flexibility there but none concerning Quarterback. Whether Quarterback is drafted or traded for, he is the orchestrator of the team's offense. No exception. Demarcus Lawrence would be the logical sacrifice given all considerations.

Good reply, but Zeke is 70% of the offense, a 1400yard RB, a 560yard WR and a heck of a Blocker. Cowboys had a little over 5000yards for 2018 and Zeke accounted for over 2000 by himself. How did the offense and the Cowboys do when Zeke was suspended? I pay TANK, COOPER and ZEKE.... then sign Joe Flacco or CJ Bethard. Would consider the Franchise Tag for DAK for a year to see if he has reached his ceiling or able to take the next step

Double like. I still said Zeke because I think there are quality RBs who could be had in free agency this season and still produce, but I don't pretend they'd produce like Zeke.

I hadn't watched the Rams all year, but I came away from their game even more impressed with what Zeke accomplished this season, and far less impressed with Gurley knocking on the rushing door, for exactly the reason you just said. Zeke runs into buzzsaws and still makes things happen, on the regular, whereas CJ Anderson was able to drop 150 on the Cowboys in that game. To be the focal point, be the EXACT thing teams try to stop and to STILL put up the numbers he did in 2018 was a masterpiece.

Zeke has about 2-3 years left in his prime at his current rate of touches.
