Will Jerry ever bring in a proven HC again?

I wasn’t responding to you. Lol

I was speaking generally which apparently hits a nerve with you which supports my notion. Thanks!!

Obviously you were taking a shot at Jimmy for not having success anywhere else as you described it. IMO thats indirectly an attempt defending Jerry.
Nope, didn't hit a nerve. You couldn't possible provoke any emotion, really. I'm just aware of how you post. You sometimes respond without quoting someone, pretty obvious with your second paragraph stating the above bold. It's not very subtle and is passive aggressive. Dead giveaway when you respond to the poster I was having a convo with.

You say you weren't responding to me, yet confirm you were. you're making great strides!

Anyway, it was pretty clear what I meant. Johnson was my second favorite HC in Dallas history. I'm just simply pointing out that he didn't do it alone. This is in no way defending anyone, just stating the facts. I understand you can't grasp this simple concept because your bias has you blind as Mr. Magoo.

He had one stop in the NFL beyond Dallas - Miami. And yes, he didn't win a SB there but he had a winning record there. He made the playoffs in 3 of his 4 years there and also had 2 playoff wins in 4 seasons there (compared to our current coach who has 2 playoff wins in 8 years). Not great but hardly poor. So it's not like he had 5 NFL stops and all were bad and only Dallas was a good run.

He was a very good at The U, granted that's

Your flattering yourself. Actually it was your post which spurred my response which is a characteristic of mine but my post was not intended for you alone and why I didn’t quote you but intended for any potential Jerry defender.

Whatever you say pal, I tend to pick up on posting habits. Don't mind me.

Your right . That is a habit of mine. Often someone’s post will spark a reaction that I want to direct at anyone with that thought not just the one who presented it. And why I don’t quote directly.

It's not like most of us on site are media writers or do novels for a business.:)

Jerry has only brought in a proven HC twice in his era. Initially to set the teams course bringing them out of potential bankruptcy and the second time to resurrect from a 5-11 Funk to gain public support for a new stadium.

What would it take for Jerry to set his ego aside again or stop his pursuit of trying to prove he can build and win a championship without a proven HC who’d receive more credit than him?

Or are we stuck in this situation until Jerry’s last breathe barring a total collapse or financial barrier?

Remember he tried winning championships with a great HC but didn’t like not receiving the credit he was pursuing. What gives us hope Jerry will change?

Define proven then we can chew on that. Proven as in "has a SB ring"? Sure lot's of them sitting on the couch with a remote lookin for click bait

It could be a speculative description and dissected from there to support a narrative but I think most get it.

But no, I wouldn’t say proven as in a SB ring.

I don’t think it’s necessary to specifically define it. Then anyone can throw darts at it.

Specifically no. In broad terms yes. Want me to start? How about proven ability to coach teams to winning seasons. Motivate, stimulate, congratulate, educate. At any level. High school, college or professional.

Jerry will die with the huge failure of the last 25 years...things will probably be worse under his cheap son
I think Stephen will bring in a face-of-the-franchise coach. He has no need for the spotlight. If rumors are true he would have been the reason the "front office considered firing Garrett".

I really don’t think it needs defining.

When we describe players as great, we don’t need to define. I think most know what proven means.

Jerrys wife briefly discussed this years ago that she didn’t wish or want her children to run the franchise as her husband had.

We have to remember the siblings will most likely own equal shares and probably hire someone to be GM. I can see Stephen assuming the Pres title Jerry has but not the GM.
