It's extremely unlikely that the Giants will land the top quarterback prospect in the class at No. 6 overall. Some team will trade up for him. Perhaps New York will do it, as it's more feasible to move up now in the wake of its loss to Dallas, which Giant fans should thank Jason Garrett for. Had the Cowboys sat their starters, the Giants would have to trade more assets to move up for a signal-caller. It just goes to show how inept Garrett is.

I'm not Garrett homie, but this is not a great reason to pile on. Yes, it was stat padding meaningless scrimmage. We did rest Zeke, btw.
But a lot of coaches try to win meaningless games. Belichick for example.

Walterfootball has always hated Dallas. They will go out of there way to take any pot shot at Dallas can
That is for sure. You should have seen how they graded Cooper trade and the Tate trade. Also they were not too thrilled with our draft picks.

We were very fortunate nobody got hurt against NY. If you recall, last year we played a similarly meaningless game against Philly's B team. They went on to win the super bowl and we lost 4 draft spots. ......Granted LVE has taken the sting out, but it still shows a general lack of long term strategic thinking. The whole NFL knows NY is a decent QB away from being competitive. Why make it easier for them?

Because that is not part of this long term process that we are in, lol.

I've seen multiple WalterFootball posts involving the Cowboys over the years; I can confirm the guy drinks haterade. The Cowboys could win the Super Bowl, and he'd say it severely damaged their draft order.

On the subject of Haskins, definitely not afraid of seeing him in the division. He does some key things well, but I've got a lot of concerns about his overall game; more negatives than positives.

All Haskins has to do is give them more play making ability than the ancient and slow Eli Manning........shouldn't be a real high bar ........and he is certainly capable of far exceeding it. You put him in there with Barkley in the backfield..... a revamped OL............ OBJ........... they suddenly look formidable.

Just b/c Walter is a hater doesn't mean he is wrong.

It is not Garrett's fault at all. So he is supposed to lose a game on purpose just so the Giants get a worse draft pick?
This makes no sense at all.
You play to win the game, take a winning momentum into the playoffs.

Sounds like a lot of posters on here. Or they would find something to complain about. :lmao2:

As for Haskins, I am an OSU fan, and seen all the games. He really needed to stay for another year, he has quite a few things to work on.
He is very accurate, great strong arm. His decision making improved over the season, but still needs work, and with the faster better NFL defenses, he may take a while to learn that. Maybe sitting a year behind Eli may help, who knows. As he needs to learn to read defenses better IMO.
I can say more negatives than positives, but if so, it is not by much. Not for the NCAA, but in the NFL, yes, I can agree with that.
He is not fast, so scrambling and running will not be an issue for defenses. He benefited as most NCAA players do, from playing inferior talent.

Haskins may be one of these QB's, can play really great eventually, or will just be average. I do not want NY to select him, as I would want him to succeed for any team not our rival. He will go in the top 10, only because no other QB's seem to be better.

Same people saying we should've lost that scrimmage...uh, I mean, game, would be saying the opposite if we had lost to Seattle in the Wildcard.

Pretty sure we took zero winning momentum into the playoffs--as we came out fairly flat on offense--but your point is right if you're saying people will blame Garrett either way.

How do you know Mike White couldn't have thrown for 300 yards and 3 TD on NY? The point isn't too intentionally lose. The point is not to lose starters to injury in a meaningless game. We could have done exactly what philly did last year resting starters. As for losing to Seattle, I wouldn't say the offense was exactly sharp from the extra practice against NY.

OL can be fixed quick. See Indy.

but they are more than JUST a qb away is the point.

the giants have been trying to fix their OL with FAs and through the draft with little success for 5 years now.

overpaid for solder, will hernandez was okay as a rookie, but pugh, richburg, and flowers all flopped. it has been their main weakness and they've either not wanted to address it or when they have, it hasn't panned out as great as they hoped.

I wasn't arguing for playing the starters in that scrimmage.
My point was that Garrett would've been dogged either way. That's just fact...and I'm not even a JG defender.

I don't remember anyone on this board in favor of playing key starters. Playing starters in a meaningless game a week before a playoff game is a much tougher position to defend. We all know why Garret did it........he wanted a 10 in season.
