Don’t think too much man... he’s a grown man whose had numerous chances to clean up including getting the best help from the team.. you can’t tell me Jerry didn’t try counseling and getting him a bodyguard to buffer for him

Dude is a grown man who made his bed.. guess what he’s going to have to find a regular job selling cars or insurance here soon and be a productive tax paying citizen like the rest of us. Good luck bro I hope it was worth it
Not thinking too much. There are guys like this all over the NFL. Josh Gordon has thrown away 100 million at least. I think there is a reason for this. I don’t think people wake up and chose weed over a nfl career.

Is this over marijuana? Take the NBA approach for weed and sort of look the other way. I'd rather have the players sitting around a TV playing video games while smoking weed than out at a night club getting caught on camera being stupid. Don't get me started on PED's where a player serves a quick suspension and can be back to win Super Bowl MVP.

I feel for Irving and Gregory..........but I never once looked at them as a part of this team just like I never looked at as Rolando McClain apart of this team. Just like I don't look at Sean Lee as apart of this team.
Yeah, I feel horrible for someone with god given talent almost nobody else is born with who can make enough money in just a few years to pay for their kids college and financial security if they can just not smoke pot. They screw their owner, coaches, teammates, fans and more importantly their family. Stupid just doesn't quite adequately describe it.

Not playing in the NFL isn’t the worse thing. Probably extended years on their life by getting kicked out of the league. You guys don’t feel for them because you look at them as property. As if they should be thankful to bash their brains in every week for your pleasure. Then when they get CTE you guys are quiet as a mouse. As long as they continue to run fast for you and jump for you they are in your good graces.

He made 3 mill last year and I’m sure at least a half a mill in every other year. Anyways it happens to over 3/4 of the league even those who are multiple pro bowlers and sign that one big extension.

No, he was still on his rookie contract, and it’s pretty silly to think the Cowboys gave him a pay raise from $500K to $3 million after spending most of athe previous 2 years suspended for drug use. And, speaking of drug use, that’s where you are wrong about previous years. You don’t get to draw an NFL paycheck while suspended from the NFL. Accordingly, he didn’t get paid at all in 2017, and only got paid for a few games in 2016. The bulk of what he has earned was from his rookie signing bonus and salary in 2015.

And what happens to over 3/4 of the league? Getting suspended for most of their careers for drug use? If that’s what you are claiming you are way off base, and even if it were true how would that make it any better?

Choices were made. I get addiction excuses to a degree. But you cannot tell me that the Dallas Cowboy franchise doesn't have one of the nest support systems in the NFL.
My opinion is that we cut both loose and move forward without Gregory and Irving. Enough is enough. Neither gave the team any sort of consistency, just a highlight here and there.
They need to do a better job with signing players with drug issues in their past and present. I want players who WANT to play football. Headcases can sign elsewhere.

Gregory and Irving have really hurt this team. Good players that absolutely can not be counted on. This league is hard to compete in on any given day let alone having to deal with unreliable stars with zero self control. I was a Gregory supporter but that ends here. Both guys need to be cut. Soon.

They knowingly take those risks to play a game they love and make millions doing it. Especially with what we know about the long term effects today, no, I don’t have sympathy for them.

There are much more dangerous jobs out there that millions of people do everyday for pennies compared to what these guys make and no one feels sorry for them.

Plenty of jobs out there that put a toll on your body. They just happened to have the best one. None of the fans like to see guys hurt, but make no mistake many of us have put our bodies through the ringer for our own jobs at a fraction of the pay. Its hard to sympathize with someone who simultaneously blows a one in a million opportunity and lets down so many people. Im a fan so of course I am frustrated and I dont see any way there isn't some selfishness on Irving's part.

im so glad we held onto Irving. He was such a help, and our roster was strong enough we could carry pieces that couldnt contribute.

Feel what? I hope they crash and burn. These guys were giving a golden ticket and blew it. I don't feel anything but disgust for them.

Are you for real? Cry me a river. People are doing dangers jobs all over and you think for a second I feel bad about them making the money they do playing a game? There isnt a player on that field that doesnt understand the dangers of playing football. Just like a police office knows they could get shot and killed or a firefighter knows he could die trying to saves lives or a soldier knows he could be sent to war and die. You have clean up crews working a Nuclear sites getting paid good money because of the dangers.

How about we keep it with sports? A Nascar driver could crash and be killed or injured - Boxers take massive blows to the head and suffer brain damage or die - soccer players suffer concussion all the time ...etc So your right I dont feel for them because they choose that career path and you wont hear a peep out of me when they get CTE. The NFL needs to have every player sign a wavier when entering the draft that they know the dangers of playing in the NFL. I'm so tired of hearing about this. Play or dont play. Its your freedom and choice. But dont act like you dont know the dangers of playing the game anymore than a police office doesnt know every time they pull a car over they are putting their life on the line. I obviously don't wish anything ill will on anyone. But at the same time this concussion in the NFL is so over blown compared to other sports.

They don’t knowingly know they can potentially get CTE. Most of them don’t even know what it is. It’s the perks of getting these guys when they are 22-24 years old. Still young men just a few years removed from high school.

Toll on your body? I’m talking about the brain. I’m not talking about a job that can potentially break your thumb or pinky. You tell me what job you have where you risk your brain every week and I’ll agree with you.....

We already know how you feel. You want them to jump and run for you as long as they can do it. We get it. You don’t have to sympathize with these guys. I do. I understand why you don’t. You don’t value your property. Should you? Probably not......
