I never expected them to be this year
But one mans aggressive may be another mans conservative
I expect a couple of expensive FA and sign our own. And a few of what they’ve been doing to help round out the roster
I don’t expect them to go out and sign 5-6 expensive FA

So they may sign a 2nd or 3rd tier FA instead of a 4th or 5th tier.

Unless this means a 1st tier FA in that ET dude.

I guess some may consider him being a 1st tier FA. :muttley:

I'm taking him at his word on this. And his word as good news. Again, if everyone's "backs are against the wall", act like it, and do everything you can to take your shot while you can.

And I don't think this means anything for Free Agency, but he's not wrong. The Cooper trade was an extremely aggressive move that for 2019 paid off. Hopefully it remains.

I'm hoping this means the team won't be conservative in FA. Unfortunately, his precise language gives me pause. The reference to 'our personnel' may just mean that we'll be aggressive in resigning the guys we already have in-house. If that's the case, Stephen's words may be more cause for concern than celebration. Some of the guys we're talking about extending can wait. Others probably shouldn't be extended at all.

I think they might pay EVERYBODY because:

1. An ugly strike looms ahead.

2. The sport is about to start a slow death spiral due to CTE and a shrinking talent pool.

3. Jerry is getting very old very fast.

The NFL is entering its twilight years. Might as well go for it now.

Interestingly this includes Stephen when you consider he has two years to try and sign 4 elite players ( DLaw, Byron Jones, Dak, Cooper ) with only two franchise tags.

The one thing that sucks, in terms of being aggressive, is that you now HAVE to on the DL, particularly at DE. That makes it a lot harder to get value.
