It would be awfully awkward not to bring him back after we win the Super Bowl this year.

SJ and JJ have both made it clear in the media that the team needs to take a step forward in order for Garrett to be back. This might all be conjecture but if we take them at their word, what would JG have to do to be welcomed back by the fans? NFCCG appearance, NFC Title, SB appearance, SB win, or nothing at all?

Does it have to do more with how the team looks or how far they go?

Personally, he would have to win a SB for me to feel like he deserves to be back. What do y’all think?

I don't want Garrett back period.

lol, it doesn't matter one bit whether "we the fans" welcome JG back in 2020 or not. That's what I think. Under what circumstances JJ/SJ welcome him back is all that matters. For what it's worth, and my nickel, NFC east champs again, with 2 playoff wins or more and he's back. That's called progress and a step forwards

If he gets us to the NFC championship game, I don’t see any reason to let him go, unless we get there and put up a huge clunker.

That is the only option left on the table for Garrett.

So not one conference championship in over a decade would be fine? Not. RJ g better than 15 other teams for one time in his career would be ok, and being second best would be enough to welcome in back? Hahahah, funny

I was talking about "as a minimum" of what Jerry and Steven would accept based on what they said.

I personally would have fired the Clapper years ago and anybody that has followed my posts over the years can attest to that.

I dont care about perfection I just want to win it all just ONCE in my lifetime.... 1995-96 doesn't count because yes, I was alive, but still sucking on my mother's nipples at the time.

It was a perfect world back then wasn't it . Hopefully you have different nips to suckle. Maybe that offsets the no SB rings

Every year is its own thing. Until you know all the obstacles and can assess the outcomes against those, it's premature to make hard-and-fast judgments.

Barring something major, though, that would take out a key ingredient in the recipe for a prolonged time, I think NFC Championship Game is the marker.

I completely agree. I'm actually not on the NFCCG or bust, or SB or bust wagon. What happens if they get to the NFCCG and lose in the last minute by getting completely jobbed by the officials like NO this year. There are those that say "well, it shouldn't have come down to that" and maybe there's some validity there.

Notwithstanding my general avoidance of ultimatums, unless there are some serious unforeseen circumstances, the team has to win the Division or a change has to be made. However, even in that case, I don't think a change will matter because the root issue here isn't the coach - it's the one constant in the last 23 years. We'll simply be singing those most famous lyrics from Won't Get Fooled Again.

Jason Garrett will be back in 2020 as long as Jerry Jones is in the NFL Hall of Fame as a GM.

JG ain't the problem - it's the FO

I'll give you a simple example, why risk your season (and super star RB and franchise QB) on a 2nd round OT moved to LG ... when they could have resigned J Cooper?

over time any coach is only as good as his FO

I'll welcome him back and hope he can get JJ sober

Uh I can understand frustration for the FO but J. Cooper is probably one of the worst examples to use lol. He’s nothing more than a stop gap option at G.

Also lol I don’t think that’s the move that risked the whole season lmao I think it’s pretty evident the whole “receiver by committee” thing was the big risk we took.

I’d much rather draft a guy who will be a solid if not pretty good starter at LG than the draft bust who has trouble moving. Pretty normal FO move tbh
