We actually can pay all our own dudes. I know, it's hard to imagine. First time in a while we can say that, but we can do it and we don't need any fancing cap accounting structures either.

We could pay Dak, Amari, DLaw, and Byron $30million/year and still be under the cap in 2020. Haha.

Because, Byron's deal wouldn't hit the cap until next year.

Just for example, if we paid (in 2020)

Dak: 30mill
DLaw: 25mill
Amari: 20mill
Byron: 20 mill

We'd still be about $30mill under in 2020 with no other cuts, releases, etc.

Byron won't get more than $15mill a year, so it's a no brainer really. I'm not sure what this "squeezing" is all about.

Everyone acts like we can't pay but we can and still add Earl Thomas by renegotiating a couple of other OL

If we're paying Dak 30 a year and he doesn't pan out...

We'll all know what the word squeezed out really means.

this whole "drafting the team" just to let them go if they're worth keeping after the initial contract is going to get old real quick. Just smells of Garrett's, "save Zeke for the playoffs, but we'll not use him in that game..."

**** we don’t even have to. Technically, dak, zeke Byron and cooper don’t need new deals until next year.

My belief is that I do not see the Patriots paying out these huge contracts and they continue to be fine.
We plan to pay Dak close to $30m from all reports, is he really that dynamic a player to pay that type of money to, that’s a hell of a lot more than Brady who has how many SB rings now? Same thing with Lawrence, the Patriots paying anyone along the lines of what Lawrence’s contract will end up being?

Here is the deal with the Patriots one guy and one guy only makes that team tick. He runs their offense so proficiently that they can plug guys in and keep ticking. When Tom Brady retires this is a subpar team. No doubt.

Squeezed out? There is no squeezing. The cap is fine with Byron's money.

And if we let a true #1 go, who's an ironman and 99% percentile athlete at the position while never missing games, for $14million, we'd be stupid. Really stupid.
You forgot the turnover machine part.

He is stating that its just a prediction. So a prediction from a guy that probably does not have any more information than anyone on this board.

So here is my prediction: They offer him a team-friendly deal and if he takes it, awesome! If not, he plays his year out and we can sign him next year. Honestly, I would not be surprised to see Chido have a better long-term career and I would be bummed if we had to let him go because we already gave the big money to Jones.

At the end of the day $14m is the same with the Cowboys or the Commanders, really does not matter where it comes from when the career lifespan is so short. Get what u can baby and then call it a day...

State and local taxes means a dollar here really isn't a dollar there.
Cowboys also have the marketing advantage.

There are 31 teams who would love to recreate what the Patriots do, and 31 teams are failing at it. Oviously it’s not as simple as some fans think.

Not even close.

What the Pats do is only possible due to the absolutely brilliant scheming of Belly. There isn't a DC in the NFL who's close.
