Is this the same source that told you about Dak's deal?
If you wanna bet on that we can. I have no issue putting money up that Dak gets more than 25M. I don’t even think you’d doubt that but who knows

Don't expect to get many if any details on his medical issues.

He and his family have been very secretive about it and they reminded Seattle of the HIPPA privacy laws which kept the Seahawks from releasing much info or even discussing it in any detail.

wild guess would be partially detached retina and brain hemorrhaging

Chris Canty had a freak incident and had emergency surgery to save his eye before being drafted by Dallas. Don’t remember if it affected his vision, but I remember him saying he’d never play without that big face mask and visor he used to wear.

Anyway, wonder if Dallas’ experience with that situation gives them insight here. Lots of folk doubted if Canty would play again too.

I know a lot of us have been harsh on the FA thus far. If McDowell and Quinn are signed the defensive line could actually become a strength and they could take next step to elite

I cannot speak on the damage done on Cantys eye. But If I’m not mistaken, he had a detached retina which was damaged from a bar fight.

I believe McDowell’s was much much more serious and injured his brain.

I’m no doctor. So I’m just blabbering on

You said it was a done deal by last Friday. So I guess I would have won that bet.

Jaylon Smith 2.0:omg: how great would that be:thumbup:

Jaylon Smith was considered a top 5 talent before his career threatening injury dropped him to our 2nd round pick.

Malik McDowell was the 35th pick which shows talent but not Jaylon Smith top 5 talent.

There are 2nd rounders that are some of the best players at their position in the league and yes it would be great to have a Jaylon Smith 2.0 but it is highly unlikely. Jaylon Smith getting back to what he is.

Heck, the Cowboys once brought in a DL who had been in a coma. This is nothing.

They only paid him 85k in 2017 base salary

He did get a 3.2m signing bonus like you said

He would be a ERFA(645k) this year and a RFA(3m) next year

ERFA with us this year? Is he limited to ERFA terms this year with whatever team he signs with?

But wasn't he NFI his entire Seahawks' career, so that he has 0 accrued years so far, and wouldn't be a RFA until 2022?

Either his contract ran out or he’s near the end of it. Either way, no team wants to pay more good money in a gamble on a guy who’s already been sidelined most of his contract.

Free agency allows teams to write safer contracts.

No. He was drafted two years ago and never on the roster. Seahawks owned his rights for another four years.

Have you tried Google?
