So...when the Lakers land a top 4 pick in the draft so they can facilitate an Anthony Davis trade can we all agree that the NBA lottery is rigged or at the very least influenced?

Lakers injuries + terrible head coach = Not making playoffs. Laugh away.

I said ahead of time when the Lakers signed LeBron that he will be in decline *and* that he will start to have injuries. Its what older plays do.

Lebron won’t play more than 120 games the rest of his career. Just watch.

LeBron is bigger in his mind than any coach. The team won’t attract a good coach and their team chemistry is doomed while he is there.

I am talking entire history. The Mavs had an 11 win team then drafted 4th. When 4th was like a 1% probability.
They have basically never emerged from the lottery with a win versus expectation. EVER.

They got Dirk at peanuts because the league hated Euros back then.
But they have had really crap luck with just the Lotto itself.
They built up through Finley, Dirk, Nash. Guys not coveted as top 3 picks.

The last top 3 picks who hit were Mark Aguirre back in the 80s then Jason Kidd whom they eventually traded for Nash.

That's in their entire existence.

The last 2 drafts have been great because they outdrafted slot.
DSJ fell too far coming off injury and Luke should have gone 2nd at worst.
But again they paid a premium to move up for Luka after a full year long tanking they admitted publicly to the point Cuban was fined.
---------------------------

AFAIK the Mavs have had top-six odds only six times since the NBA lottery was implemented in ‘85. Here’s how it went for them:

‘91 - 6th worst record, 6th pick
‘92 - 3rd worst record, 4th pick
‘93 - worst record, 4th pick
‘94 - worst record, 2nd pick
‘98 - 6th worst record, 6th pick
'18 - 4th worst record; 5th pick

So 6 bottom 6 finishes and a total of -6 picks in Lotto luck.

And we know much of this happened under Stein who HATED Cuban. Things that make you go ‘hmmm’.

kinda funny you say that, when from 2000 (Cuban bought the team in January) through 2014 (David Stern retired in January) the Mavs only missed the playoffs twice. Once in 2000 with a 40-42 record and once in 2013 with a 41-41 record. Neither season required Stern to hate Cuban for them not to get a top pick.

Mavs fans generally point to the 7070707070707070770 free throw attempts for Dwayne Wade after DAL was up big in the Finals as the main anti-Mavs conspiracy at the same time Cubes was racking up fines in record numbers then thumbing his nose at the league by doubling to give to charity. Basically saying *** you this is all tax deductible.

Before then DAL was considered a small market team and the lotto bias conspiracy was often directed there.
Ewing to Knicks, Kobe to Lakers(via trade), LBJ to hometown CLE.
Draft has left some real eye raising stuff out there but every team who breaks even or worse feels shafted lol.

The Lakers and Knicks are flagships and have been bad a long time.

The Mavs made the playoffs the year before Ewing was drafted, passed on Kobe at #6 to trade down and again at #9 to select Samaki Walker and made the playoffs the year before Lebron was drafted.

Perhaps the post wasn't clear but those were references to fans in general thinking the lotto is rigged. Which is a widely held belief.

Covered well above why Mavs fans feel they have been lotto screwed. NEVER advancing beyond position in their history.

Sixers fans booing their team in game 1 of the playoffs, as they trail Brooklyn by 11 after 3 quarters.

Stay classy, Philadelphia. :igglestrophy:

I mean..they booed Ben after he missed yet another FT. Kid should've been working on that hard last off-season. No excuse for missing as many as he does. He thinks he's good enough already. It's a bad look.

Also..they've been playing like garbage the last couple weeks of the season leading into the playoffs. They had a right to boo. The Nets don't have near the talent we do. And it's being wasted. That game wasn't close. Nets constantly had double digits leads.

Might be too early to tell, but Ben could becoming a poor playoff performer. He struggled against us last year to

He kills us in the postseason. Teams literally guard him from the free throw line. It screws up our entire offense. Then he goes 1-5 from the line on top of that. He's a problem for sure.

Simply has to learn to shoot the ball. You can't play today's game without that.
Kidd developed into a top notch 3 point guy after an early career hole in game of shooting it.
Nash used to be terrible once we broke defense down because he was always passing it and couldn't score inside the paint but man did he develop.

Maybe this sounds ignorant of me but does anyone believe any team in the east is finals material because I dont

Toronto can do some damage. They have very good switchable wing defenders. Downside is Lowery is an exploitable defender. However overall, unless they fall apart in the playoffs, Toronto could he the best overall team GS has faced in he finals with the exception of the the Cavs team that beat them

Big win for the Blazers today. They went 0-4 against the Thunder and down their starting Center and find a way to win. Portland was hitting from downtown and the Thunder were bricking 3s. Hoping it is a good series.
